The ideal candidate should exhibit godly character, maintain a positive attitude, and lead with joy, integrity and passion. They should be self-motivated and able to direct others. This calling requires a vocally talented musician who can play at least one
instrument, preferably piano or guitar. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading worship services that align with the church's mission and values.
For a part-time role, the responsibilities will include leading the worship ministry and assisting with pastoral care. For a full-time position, the candidate would additionally serve in another area of ministry, such as missions, students, or discipleship
as is the best fit.
Qualifications and Responsibilities
- A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree is preferred, along with a minimum of two years of experience leading worship in a church setting.
- Proficiency in both vocal and instrumental music is essential with the ability to play either guitar or piano is a must.
- The position also requires strong organizational and administrative skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- The candidate must be able to work collaboratively with church staff and volunteers and have experience using systems such as Planning Center, ProPresenter, Resi Livestream, and Microsoft Office Suite, among others.
- Key responsibilities of the Worship Pastor include Worship Leadership, where the candidate will plan and lead Sunday worship services and special events in collaboration with the Senior Pastor and the worship team. They will select and arrange music that
aligns with the church's theological beliefs and enhances the worship experience. Additionally, they will lead rehearsals and ensure that all worship team members are well-prepared for services.
- This position will plan music ministry events alongside the Senior Pastor.
- In Team Development, the Worship Pastor will be responsible for recruiting, training, and mentoring worship team members, including musicians, vocalists, and technical volunteers. They will foster a spirit of unity, collaboration, and spiritual growth within
the team.
- Regarding Service Planning, the Worship Pastor will collaborate with church staff to create cohesive and engaging worship services that incorporate various styles of music, reflecting the diversity of the congregation. They will also utilize multimedia
and other creative elements to enhance the worship experience.
- Regarding Pastoral Care, the Worship Pastor will provide spiritual guidance and support to both the worship team and the congregation.
- Under Administration, the Worship Pastor will manage the worship ministry's budget and resources and maintain worship-related equipment and supplies.
