About This Role

This position blends pastoral care, administration, and strategic leadership to create an environment where young people can deepen their faith, discover their identity in Christ, and grow as leaders. It also offers an exciting opportunity to engage in a new, collaborative approach of restructuring the leadership roles within NextGen ministry.

Leaders will oversee their specific ministry areas while lending their strengths and skills in a cooperative effort in determined areas across NextGen, creating a more unified and impactful team environment.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for all NextGen age groups, a strong commitment to pastoral care, mentoring, and helping children and students grow in their relationship with Jesus.

 

Primary Role Responsibilities

Develop and implement strategies to reach and connect individuals from 9th grade through 30 years old in the region to illuminate Church.

Lead and manage ministry teams, ensuring alignment with the church’s vision and goals.

Develop and execute a vision for engaging outreach to Disney College Program students, tailored to their location and time constraints.

Plan and lead regular gatherings and special events that are engaging, relevant, and spiritually enriching for individuals from 9th grade through 30 years old.

Coordinate weekly services and activities that promote discipleship, community, and spiritual growth within this age group.

Collaborate with the NextGen team to ensure a seamless transition from children’s ministry all the way through young adult ministry, plan and execute NextGen events, and develop shared ministry ideas.

Utilize social media and digital platforms to engage this demographic and promote ministry initiatives.

Provide pastoral care and biblical encouragement through spiritual guidance to individuals from 9th grade through 30 years old, helping them navigate challenges and grow in their faith.

Recruit, train, and empower volunteers, equipping them to serve effectively within the ministry while developing unity and encouraging their personal spiritual growth.

Prepare and deliver engaging teachings and facilitate discussions on relevant topics and issues that have impact and aid in the application of biblical principles in practical ways.

Maintain clear and regular communication with individuals from 9th grade through 30 years old, volunteers, and the church community.

Collaborate with other ministry leaders to ensure the integration and alignment of youth and young adult ministries with the broader church events, discipleship pathway and Dream Team.

Oversee ministry budgets, planning, and resource allocation to support effective ministry operations.

Ensure compliance with church policies and maintain a safe, organized environment for all ministry activities.

Participate in staff meetings, providing updates on ministry activities and progress and keep leadership informed of staff accomplishments, concerns, and visions.

Maintain strong relationships and open communication with all church staff.

 

Strengths & Skillsets

Deep personal relationship with God and a solid understanding of His Word.

Bachelor's Degree, Bible School Diploma, or relevant work experience in NextGen Ministry or a related field; experience with children and youth preferred.

Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Planning Center, Canva, and social media is a plus, but not required.

An understanding of the unique challenges and needs students and young adults face.

Strong administrative skills, flexibility, and the ability to meet deadlines.

Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills, particularly with children.

Effective recruiter and team player.

Audio/Video skills are appreciated but not required.

 

Details

This position requires a minimum of (40) hours a week and (4) days in the office with flexibility on scheduling as it relates to specific days.
