Music Minister

Job Title: Part-Time Music Minister

Reports To: Senior Pastor

Mission Statement: To Know Him and Make Him Known.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Worship Planning and Leadership:

• Lead the congregation in worship, utilizing a broad spectrum of music styles, and introducing new songs with coaching as needed.
• Infuse vitality into the worship experience, actively engaging the congregation through music.
• Bridge generational and cultural divides by curating a balanced selection of musical styles for each service.
• Provide music that complements and enhances the spiritual experience of the Lord's Supper, deepening the congregation's engagement with this sacrament.
• Employ technology creatively in the planning and execution of music to elevate the worship experience.
• Collaborate with church committees and Senior Pastor to ensure the music ministry aligns with the church's overall mission and strategic goals.

Music Program Development:

• Conduct weekly rehearsals with the sanctuary choir, preparing them for regular services and special events.
• Discover and nurture new talent within the congregation, encouraging participation in the music ministry.
• Foster discipleship within the music ministry, offering spiritual and musical guidance to participants.

Administrative Duties:

• Oversee the music ministry budget, ensuring timely submission of reports, estimates, and requests.
• Ensure bulletin material, including music selections and choir participations, is submitted by the Wednesday night deadline.
• Manage the acquisition of music, equipment, and supplies in line with the church's financial policies.

Budget Management:

• Maintain and manage the music ministry budget, submitting timely reports and requests for funding.
• Ensure efficient use of resources, aligning expenses with ministry goals and church policies.

Special Programs and Outreach:

• Arrange and prepare music for special worship programs, such as Christmas Eve, Good Friday, Easter Sunrise service, Vacation Bible School and others, including services featuring the Lord's Supper.
• Extend the reach of the church's music ministry into the broader community, representing the church in musical outreach endeavors.

Miscellaneous Duties:

• Any other duties as assigned by Senior Pastor, willing to adapt to the changing needs of the church and its leadership.

Compensation:

• A competitive salary commensurate with experience.
• 2 weeks of paid vacation per year.
