Summary of Worship Director Position
Union Church is making a lasting difference by leading people to become followers of Christ and change agents in our world. The Worship Director is primarily responsible for leading and building the worship experience for our church and online attenders. This role will also provide musical and technical leadership to pursue excellence for worship experiences. Additionally, the Worship Director will support the Senior Pastor and Union Church by leading various ministerial services throughout the year, including, but not limited to: leadership events, conferences, and community gatherings. Furthermore, this role will contribute to the planning, organizing, and leading of multiple worship experiences throughout the year.

Knowledge

  • Experience on keys, guitar, and/or other instruments preferred
  • Experience with music theory, charting, and music composition
  • Familiar or demonstrated ability to learn with Planning Center Online, Multitracks, etc.

Education 

  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • 1 to 3 years of related work experience

The Scope:

  • Leading and building the worship experiences 
  • Planning, organizing, and spiritually leading weekly worship services
  • Recruiting, training, and building worship teams
  • Planning and organizing worship services to meet weekly time requirements
  • Provide musical and technical leadership pursuing excellence 
  • Sharpen musical and technical abilities in an ongoing way
  • Lead contractors and volunteers to sharpen musical abilities
  • Oversee Planning Center Online for Services
  • Execute communications with team using Planning Center and other communication tools.
  • Assist with church team technical efforts
  • Lead and manage volunteer and contractor recruitment and development efforts
  • Support the Senior Pastor on various projects
  • Support various ministerial services, such as leadership gatherings, community events, baptisms, etc.

  • Must have an intimate and growing relationship with Christ
  • Must demonstrate FAITH (faithful, available, invested, teachable, healthy and spirit-filled)
  • Model standards and expectations of Union Church leadership.

Working Conditions and other information 

  • A flexible weekly work schedule that includes mandatory Sunday hours, with added responsibilities for holidays and special events as assigned.
  • Attend all functions required for leadership and staff.
