Job Description: The Children’s Ministry Director (CM), in partnership with other staff and volunteers, will lead the ministry by casting vision for their ministry, partnering with families, and

working to create opportunities for children to experience the love of Christ and grow in their knowledge of the gospel. The CM works as a servant leader, a team player and a role model for the Children’s Ministry staff, both paid and volunteer.

Objectives/Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement ministry vision, ministry goals and curriculum that will disciple our children to become lifelong followers of Christ
  • Create discipleship pathways for children and their families
  • Communicate the Children’s Ministry vision and goals to the entire church
  • Collaborate with the Director of the Next Gen ministry, the Youth Director and parents to ensure the transition of children from 5th grade to middle school is effective
  • Provide leadership and supervision to the staff and volunteers involved in the ministry
  • Recruit, train, develop and empower CM staff and volunteers on a regular basis
  • Oversee all of the Sunday morning, mid-week and annual CM activities which includes the nursery and Sunday School, Kid’s Quest and Vacation Bible School.
  • Coordinate and/or work with staff and volunteers in the production of special children’s programs (Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day)
  • Create and implement effective communication methods between parents, pastors, staff, congregants and the neighboring community.
  • Research for purchase and/or develop appropriate curriculum for CM programs and activities with the input of parents, staff and volunteers
  • Ensure the completion of background checks for volunteers involved in CM
  • Develop and manage the overall budget for the CM in conjunction with the overall staff
  • Work in partnership with the Next/Gen Director and Youth Director to design and implement events, ministries and programs which will serve all age groups within this framework and equip parents with the tools needed to encourage living a Christ-like life in the home and out.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in Children’s Ministry (Preferred)
  • Has demonstrated the ability to build and lead teams, goal setting, planning, vision casting, and communication
  • Possesses a level of Biblical knowledge needed to be the Children’s Ministry Director at 4Cs
  • Has demonstrated the ability to be detail-oriented, well organized, manage time effectively, and supervise others
  • Has the ability to speak effectively before large groups
