Children’s Ministry Director Job Description

Overview
The role of Children’s Ministry Director (CMD) exists to partner with parents to help kids
discover and embrace a relationship with Jesus Christ that will last a lifetime and to fulfill the
purpose, mission, and values of the church. The CMD will work under the direction and
leadership of the pastor and leadership team.
Responsibilities

A. CPKids Ministry
1. Leads CPKids Ministry to instill in kids a deep love for Jesus as we equip parents to be
their primary spiritual influences.
2. Recruits, coaches, and retains large volunteer team broken into several smaller teams
3. Oversee CPKids programming on Sunday mornings (Birth-5th grade)
4. Counsels children and their parents in the area of baptism or next steps in their faith
5. Oversees CPKids’ space to include set up for Sunday services, special activities,
stocked, and cleanliness maintained
6. Oversees monthly student ministry events (6th-12th grade), build relationships with
students and help connect students with partner ministries (Younglife and Wyldlife).

B. Relational
1. Develops a well rounded relationship with leadership, staff, families, kids, volunteers,
and local community
2. Communicates with staff, volunteers, and family on a regular basis through emails, calls,
and texts.

C. Administrative
1. Creates and oversees the CPKids budget
2. Creates and manages the ongoing schedule of volunteers for CPKids and Connection
Room
3. Maintains and updates Kids Ministry information found in Planning Center
4. Input, track, and follow up with first-time guests, absentees members and volunteers
5. Curriculum Scope and Sequence development and prepares weekly lessons plans,
materials, and supplies for each classroom
6. Maintains CPKids Youtube channel
7. Identify and assist in needs that arise in CPKids families including school supplies and
scholarships for camp.
8. Sees that summer camp information is dispersed, tracks campers attending and sets up
goodie boxes for each, coordinates mail for each camper to receive, and makes bags for
Younglife and Wyldlife students going to camp

D. Events
1. Manages CpKids calendar and coordinates all events with staff and volunteers
2. Provides activities and programming for kids when needed at church-wide events
3. Plans and executes annual CPKids Ministry events like VBS, camp, egg hunt, Move up
Sunday, Parent’s Night out, and Family Movie night.
4. Assist and lead in CP events like Meal pack, Fall Fest, and Christmas Eve Service

E. Spiritual
1. Ensure all actions performed within the context of this position embodies the mission,
vision, and values of CPCC.
2. Adheres to the Statement of Faith of CPCC
3. Is an active member of CPCC, participates in praying, giving, serving, and worshiping.
F. Personal
1. Live a life that reflects well on Jesus and His Church
2. Actively involved in a small group and building relationships in church
3. Pursuing a personal quiet time, accountability context and communities that help you
grow in faith
