Ministry Summary:
The Worship Pastor with Creative Arts responsibilities is responsible for leading the worship ministry while integrating and overseeing various creative arts elements that enhance the worship experience. This role involves planning, coordinating, and leading worship services, developing and nurturing the worship and creative arts teams, and ensuring that all artistic elements align with the church’s vision and theological beliefs.
Key Responsibilities:
Worship Leadership:
- Plan, lead, and execute worship services that are spiritually engaging and artistically enriching.
- Select and prepare worship music and artistic elements, including visual arts, drama, and multimedia presentations.
- Lead worship rehearsals, providing direction and feedback to musicians, vocalists, and creative arts participants.
- Lead worship and creative team meetings and other meetings as needed.
Creative Arts Integration:
- Oversee and coordinate creative arts projects such as visual arts displays, and multimedia presentations.
- Collaborate with artists, designers, and creative volunteers to develop and execute artistic elements that complement and enhance worship services.
- Develop creative and thematic elements that align with sermon series, special events, and seasonal observances.
Team Development:
- Recruit, train, and mentor worship, creative, and prayer team members, including musicians, vocalists, and technical staff.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive environment within the worship, technical, and prayer teams.
- Organize regular meetings, workshops, and training sessions for team development and creative growth.
Service and Event Planning:
- Collaborate with the lead pastor and other church leaders to ensure worship services and creative arts projects align with the overall mission and message of the church.
- Plan and coordinate special services, events, and outreach programs, incorporating creative arts to enhance the experience.
Administrative Duties:
- Manage the worship and creative arts ministry budget, including purchasing and maintaining musical instruments, art supplies, and technical equipment.
- Oversee the scheduling of team members and the logistical aspects of worship services and creative arts events.
Spiritual and Community Leadership:
- Provide pastoral care and spiritual support to worship and creative arts team members as well as the congregation.
- Engage with the congregation to understand their worship needs and interests, and incorporate their feedback into worship and creative arts planning.
- Promote and facilitate community engagement through creative arts and worship initiatives.
Innovation and Vision:
- Stay current with trends and innovations in worship and creative arts, and bring fresh ideas to the ministry.
- Develop and implement creative strategies that enhance worship experiences and reach new audiences.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in music, fine arts, theater, theology, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in leading worship and managing creative arts projects in a church or similar setting.
- Strong proficiency in musical performance and an understanding of various creative arts disciplines.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and artists.
- Proficiency in using music technology, sound systems, multimedia tools, and church operating software.
- Creative vision and strong understanding of worship theology and liturgy.

- Reports directly to the Lead Pastor.
