Title: Worship Pastor

Classification: Full-Time | Exempt

Supervisor: Neal Rich, Lead Pastor

Relates closely to: Worship, Audio, and Production

Purpose: Worship is at the heart of God and therefore must be at the heart of the Church. We believe this individual is the WORSHIP pastor but must also be the worship PASTOR. This individual is responsible for the organizational leadership of the worship department as well as serving as the primary worship leader on Sunday mornings. The Worship Pastor leads a team of full/part-time employees, as well as a large volunteer team.

Roles:

  1. Personal Devotion

Purpose: The most significant responsibility is to nurture their own spiritual relationship. This is crucial as it’s what they minister out of.

  1. Sunday Experience

Purpose: Prepare and execute a worship set designed to lead others into the presence of God.

       Responsibilities:

  • Current Sunday experiences responsibilities include:
    • Creating a worship Moment
    • Designing and executing the musical worship experience
    • Stage design
    • Special Music

 

  1. Team Building

 

Purpose: For musicians/singers to grow spiritually and skillfully so that there is both spiritual authenticity and musical excellence on the platform.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Current team building responsibilities include:
    • Auditions
    • Worship Workshops
    • Recruiting
    • Connecting and building network in the Twin Cities
    • Building relationships with students who will be future worship leaders, directors, or pastors and cultivating their gifts and talents.

 

 

  1. Worship Culture

 

Purpose: Creating a (community based) worship culture on the worship team so that it builds stronger community, relationships, and hospitality.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Current worship responsibilities include:
    • Sunday morning team huddles
    • Green room hospitality
    • Monthly lunch meetings with team members
    • Teaching moments after rehearsal
    • Weekly check-up meetings with music director, worship associate, youth and kids worship leaders

 

  1. Team Development

 

Purpose: Consistently develop, cultivate, and steward musicians/singers to reach their full potential so that they can grow their gifts, talents, and

abilities in worship.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Current team development includes:
    • Regularly meet with and mentor youth and kids worship leaders
    • Workshops
    • Lessons/Training
    • Provide constant Feedback
    • Provide resources as available

 

  1. Audio needs for Cedar Valley Church Events

 

Purpose: To oversee the audio needs for CV, both inside and outside events, so that the people who attend can experience the best level of production and hospitality.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Current church audio need includes:
    • Funerals
    • Prayer Circles
    • Men’s and women’s connect events
    • Senior’s Luncheon
    • Lunch at the park (Annually)
    • Mega Sport’s Camp Live Worship
    • Outside rental events
    • Next Steps
    • Cultivate Breakouts

 

  1. Musical Production

Purpose: To oversee the more technical aspects of the musical side of our worship experiences. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Current musical production needs:
    • Audio/production team planning
    • Scheduling musicians
    • Managing tracks on Ableton
    • Manage and Facilitate weekly RECAP meetings for audio/production.
    • Creating order of service plans
    • Creating live arrangements of special songs

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Deep and authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Alignment with Cedar Valley Church’s core beliefs with an understanding of primary and secondary issues.
  • Theological competency as it applies to this role and level of spiritual leadership.
  • 5+ years of leading a worship department preferred
  • Experience of working with a Music Director.
  • Professional level of vocal and musical instrument performance.
  • Ability to communicate musical ideas effectively.
  • Ability to communicate music in “The Nashville Numbers System.”
  • Working ability to use Multi-tracks, Ableton, MacOS, iOS, Outlook, Google Docs, and Microsoft teams.
  • History of successfully managing a budget.
  • Manage CCLI and other relevant licensing necessary to the function of a church service.

Work Hours:

  • Full-Time; In-office
  • Church Office hours: Mon-Fri | 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Position Hours: Mon-Thurs | 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and Sundays | 6:30 a.m.
  • Other Hours: Wednesday Night Rehearsal | 5:30 p.m.–7:00 p.m.
  • Due to our work’s nature and the need to coordinate our working hours with weekend and weekday services and activities, changes in work schedules, work locations, and travel may be necessary.
  • This position may require additional hours for other work events
