Youth Pastor

Position Overview: Discovery Hills Church is seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Pastor to lead and inspire our youth ministry. The ideal candidate will have a heart for young people, strong leadership skills, and a vision for developing a thriving and impactful youth program. This role involves overseeing all aspects of our youth ministry, from organizing events and teaching Bible lessons to mentoring and supporting young people in their spiritual journey.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Youth Ministry Leadership:

   • Develop and implement a comprehensive youth ministry program that aligns with the church’s mission and values.
   • Plan and lead engaging weekly youth gatherings, including Bible studies, worship services, and fellowship events.
   • Create and oversee a variety of activities and events that encourage spiritual growth, community building, and service opportunities.

2. Teaching and Discipleship:

   • Prepare and deliver relevant and dynamic Bible teaching tailored to the needs and interests of youth.
   • Provide one-on-one mentoring and counseling to youth, offering guidance and support in their spiritual and personal development.
   • Equip youth with biblical knowledge and practical life skills through discipleship programs and small groups.

3. Volunteer Recruitment and Training:

   • Recruit, train, and support a team of dedicated volunteers and leaders to assist with youth ministry activities and programs.
   • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, ensuring that all volunteers are well-prepared and motivated.

4. Parental Engagement:

   • Build strong relationships with parents and guardians, keeping them informed and involved in their children’s spiritual growth and church activities.
   • Provide resources and support to help families nurture their children’s faith at home.

5. Program Administration:

   • Manage the youth ministry budget, including planning and overseeing expenses related to events, resources, and outreach efforts.
   • Maintain accurate records of youth participation, program effectiveness, and other relevant metrics.

6. Community Outreach:

   • Develop and implement outreach programs to engage with the broader community and invite new youth and families to participate in the church’s activities.
   • Partner with local schools, organizations, and other churches to extend the reach and impact of the youth ministry.

Qualifications:

• A deep and vibrant Christian faith, with a strong commitment to the mission and values of Discovery Hills Church.
• A bachelor’s degree in Theology, Youth Ministry, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
• Prior experience in youth ministry or a related role, with a demonstrated ability to engage and inspire young people.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with youth, parents, and church staff.
• Strong organizational skills, with experience in event planning, volunteer management, and program development.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and a willingness to take initiative and lead.

• The position requires flexibility in hours, including some evenings and weekends.
• Background checks and child protection training are required.
