Purpose:
Your role as a pastor is to lead Ministry to the Kids of Abundant Grace. Some of the role’s responsibilities include Service on Sundays for Kids, midweek service for Kids, and special events. The Kids pastor will directly report to the Lead pastor.

- Born again Christian who feels called to ministry by God.
- Commitment to working on your leadership and ministry understanding through reading, listening to training resources, taking classes, and attending conferences and seminars.
- Set a Christlike example in words and actions for the children and adults in your care.
- Personally pursue a maturing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee Ministry to the Kids at Abundant Grace, including developing and managing departmental team members.
- Share a profound love of Jesus with the children of our church and community.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and lead Connect team members.
- Develop a heart of generosity in students through encouraging missions giving to BGMC.
- Ensure that all classrooms are clean, safe, and conducive to learning and spiritual growth. This includes regular cleaning, organizing supplies, and creating an inviting atmosphere for children.
- Pursue growth for every student and set a goal to see them actively grow in their faith.
- Develop an engaging Sunday morning and Wednesday night service that reaches each child on their level.
- Act as the point person and a partner for communication with parents.
- Train and encourage adult leadership to lead Sunday morning, and serve as leaders for various ministry events.
- Build and maintain a dedicated team to assist in various aspects of children's ministry, including teaching and special events.
- Provide ongoing training and support to team members to ensure excellence in ministry.
- Encourage parents to be involved in the spiritual formation of their kids’ lives.
- Research and decide on the most effective programs to impact students.
- Develop and oversee the annual kid’s ministry budget in a way that effectively utilizes church resources and maximizes ministry opportunities.
- Maximize your work hours to accomplish your weekly responsibilities.
- Create child-friendly environments, activities, and services for each age group that fosters learning and encourages spiritual growth.
- Uphold safety practices.
Communication:
- Report to and keep the Lead pastor informed of team accomplishments, challenges, and plans.
- Participate in staff meetings and provide up-to-date information about the ministry.
- Maintain excellent relationships and open communication with all staff.
Strengths:

Pastoral Duties:
- Participate regularly in weekend worship services.
- Perform baptisms.
- Pastoral care for children and families.
- Serve in outreach events and other ministry events as needed.
Requirements:
- Credentialed with the Assemblies of God
- Love for children and families
- Previous experience in children's ministry or related field.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to recruit, train, and motivate team members.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with children, parents, and team members of all ages.
- Organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively.
- A team player who is committed to the overall mission and vision of Abundant Grace.
Additional Details:
- Sunday morning services typically host an average of 40 children, spanning from 3 months old to 6th grade.
- Wednesday night services offer additional opportunities for ministry and engagement with children.
- This is a full-time position.
