Job Description:

 Title: Student Minister

Reports to: Associate Pastor of Family Ministries: Students

Status: Full Time

Purpose:

The student ministry (grades 6-12) of Chapin CCC exists for the purpose of connecting unconnected students with the love of Christ, growing students in Christ-likeness, while releasing them to share the love of Christ freely with all.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, Invest, and Disciple adult leaders who will then disciple students. Help create and foster an atmosphere in which adult leaders take ownership.
  • Recruit, Invest, and Disciple students who can disciple other students. Help create and foster an atmosphere in which students take ownership.
  • In partnership with the Associate Pastor, develop a vision for Chapin CCC Student Ministry consistent with the Lead Pastor’s vision and the values of Chapin CCC
  • Prayerfully develop student gatherings that connect students with Jesus, His Word, and His Church.
  • Communicate with the congregation in a way that encourages their partnership with the student ministry.
  • Create a yearly calendar with events that encourage and equip students to take their next step with Jesus.
  • Manage and Maintain the Student Ministry Budget.
  • Prayerfully develop and execute a strategy to connect with students who do not follow Jesus yet.
  • In partnership with the entire Family Ministries Team, create, equip, minister to, and assist parents to disciple their own households.
  • Other duties assigned by the Lead Minister, Director of Operations or Associate Minister.

Qualifications:

  • A strong commitment to Jesus Christ and His Church; become a member of CCCC upon hiring.
  • An undergraduate degree in education, Christian Ministry/Leadership or equivalent experience.
  • Three-Five years’ experience preferred.
  • Must have demonstrated skills as a leader and a team player.
  • Ability to build relationships with students.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to submit to appropriate background checks.
  • Must be committed to and thrive in a “Dual Track” worship environment.
