Children's Ministry Director

Children’s Director (2024): The Children’s Director will create a safe, spiritual, inviting, and exciting atmosphere for the children of SPBC (Nursery-5th Grade) and our community. This person will recruit, train, and oversee all volunteers in the children’s department. They will speak for the children’s department in staff meetings and seek overall family engagement.

Reports to: Co-Pastors (Lead Pastor)

Job Type: Department Leader (Part-Time)

Salary: $20,000-$25,000 (Based on Experience/Qualifications) |  Benefits: N/A

Expected Schedule (20 Hours):

• Sunday AM (Service): 9:00-1:00
• Tuesday (Office Hours): 9:00-4:00
• Wednesday (Service): 6:00-9:00
• Additional (Outside Office Hours): Events, Planning, Scheduling, Writing, Outreach, Etc.

Qualifications:

• Testimony of Salvation 
• Pass Background Check
• Minimum of Three Years of Children’s Ministry Experience 
• College Degree (Preferred)
• Punctual, Organized, and Teachable Personality
• Some Computer Technology Proficiency (Microsoft Office, Keynote, Canva, etc.)
• Welcoming and Joyful Attitude towards Children, Parents, Volunteers, and Visitors
• Possess a Desire, Excitement, and Passion for Children’s Ministry
• Faithful Tither and Supporter of SPBC’s Mission, Strategy, and Vision

Responsibilities: 

• Good Representation (Conduct, Social Media, Community, Participation, etc.)
• Setup and Clean Up the Children’s Department
• Plan and Host Children’s Events (4-6 Minimum Events Per Year) 
• Oversee and Participate in Sunday School Rotation
• Coordinate Children/Family Outreach (Community, Visitors, Hospitals) 
• Plan and Oversee Wednesday Night Program (Currently Awana Clubs)
• Plan, Prepare, and Participate in Vacation Bible School
• Recruit, Evaluate, and Train Volunteers for the Nursery/Children’s Department
• Create, Maintain, and Communicate Children's Calendar for Events and Services
• Create, Maintain, and Communicate Nursery Calendar for Events and Services
• Active Involvement with Other Church Events, Planning, and Activities
• Other Needs as Assigned 

* Employment will begin with a six-month probationary period to determine the individual’s suitability for the position. After this period, the Personnel Committee and/or Selection Committee will meet with the pastoral staff to determine if the individual will be offered the position permanently.
