Denomination: Evangelical Free Church of America
Weekly Attendance: 200
Location: Brenham, TX
Role: Associate Pastor of Worship
About Brenham Bible Church: Located in Washington County, the birthplace of Texas, BBC started in the early 1980s when a group of believers decided to establish a church focused on the expository teaching and preaching of God's Word. Although
we're situated in a small town, our location is a central crossroads in Texas, conveniently positioned between Houston, Austin, and College Station.
Over the years, we’ve been fortunate to witness God’s work in and through our church as we strive to know Him and make Him known in our community. Since Covid, our attendance has fluctuated around 200. As we move forward, we are dedicated to building a strong
team of volunteers and staff to support healthy growth in the season ahead.
About the Associate Pastor for Worship: BBC is searching for an Associate Pastor of Worship who will be able to help our church grow as we reach more people here in central Texas. We are not looking for a specialist, but a generalist who
has strong competencies in music, discipleship and ministry support. Depending on the individual candidate's giftings and circumstances, this position may be offered full-time or part-time with the focus solely on leading corporate worship.
The Associate Pastor of Worship's Responsibilities Include:
- Plan the corporate worship services in consultation with the Senior Pastor
- Meet weekly with the Senior Pastor and other ministry staff to provide updates and coordinate upcoming ministry events
- Provide direct oversight, scheduling, and set up for the worship and A/V team members, equipment, and budget and resources through the year
- Identify and train a deep bench of volunteers for the worship and A/V teams
- Spiritually lead the team both in rehearsals and in times of corporate worship
- Coordinate the worship & A/V team members to support other church ministries through the year
- Work with staff and volunteers to create and maintain media to be used physically and digitally in the church or online (in-service graphics, livestreams, website, social media posts, etc)
Responsibilities beyond the music...
- General pastoral ministry. Because of our size, our staff needs to wear different hats through the week. This includes shepherding others through personal discipleship and development or providing pastoral care or counsel when needed. Rotating into our
teaching lineup is expected and there may be an opportunity to preach a few times each year based on the candidates giftings.
- Mobilize people to ministry. The ideal candidate will not only be a team builder for themselves, but they will desire to help people in the church find their place to serve in the body and find joy in helping other teams within the church grow. They will
foster a sense of belonging and purpose for those in our church family.
- Reach out to the community around us. The ideal candidate will share our conviction that we are here to not only build up our church, but also the "big C" Church and reach the world with the good news of Jesus. The candidate will collaborate with other
church leaders in our community and actively participate as we partner together to advance the gospel through various outreach opportunities.
- Misc ministry support. As we grow, there are plenty of "all-hands on deck" activities and the ideal candidate will be a strong team player and happy to jump in and lend a hand.
