Parkway Fellowship High School Pastor - WPK Location
JOB DESCRIPTION
Role Summary: Lead in student ministry at Parkway Fellowship Westpark Location with a focus on but not limited to High School Students, but the entire student ministry at Parkway Fellowship as a whole. The High School Pastor role includes ensuring a cohesive approach to discipleship and spiritual growth of High School students. Parkway Fellowship is a growing church with currently two locations. It has been featured 5 times as one of the Top 100 Fastest Growing Churches by Outlook Magazine.
Qualifications for the HS Pastor Position must include but not be limited to:
- Mature Christ - follower
- Working knowledge of God’s word
- Biblical Financial Giver
- Expresses Humility
- Proficiency with web-based software
- Strong commitment to the vision and mission of Parkway Fellowship
- Proficiency in both verbal and written communication
- 2+ years of experience in student/youth ministry (full or part time)
Core Competencies:
- Communication of the Gospel: Ability to communicate the Gospel through various means to reach students (AT ANY COST).
- Leadership Experience: Leadership background and experience serving with youth.
- Vision Implementation: Ability to articulate & implement the vision of Parkway Fellowship.
- Exceptional Communication: Top Tier interpersonal skills working with many individuals (including volunteers, parents, and outside vendors for student ministry events).
- Theological Grounding and Creativity: Exceptional ability to articulate correct theology and creativity in ministering to students.
- Self starter: Ability to work in a non micromanaging environment, with a pursuit of excellence.
Responsibilities of the High School Pastor role, but not limited to:
SUNDAY SERVICES:
- Work with the entire student team in designing Sunday Worship Experience that delivers a breathtaking experience to all students (that inspire, disciple, and captivate).
- Ability to teach Sunday Messages as directed by the Lead Pastor of Students (Lead Student Pastor is the Main Communicator)
- When not teaching, will assist in either hosting, tech/media, etc.
- Work with entire student team to complement and maintain an effective association process for all guests
OUTREACH:
- Empower core students to reach other students and strengthen the student ministry as a whole.
- Reach and build relationships with students in the community (through school and community events) on a regular basis to connect to the ministry.
- Be a consistent, visible presence at local high schools.
SMALL GROUPS & DISCIPLESHIP:
- Maintain a high level of participation of High School students in small groups, weekly.
- Provide support and continued training alongside the Lead Pastor of Students to High School Students Small Group Ldr.’s.
- Effectively track and report high school small group attendance/participation.
VOLUNTEERS:
- Recruiter, train, and empower volunteers at the HS Ministry Level
- Cast the vision of Parkway Fellowship to all HS Volunteers on a consistent basis
- Schedule Volunteers for Sunday Experiences and other Student Events
CAMPS, TRIPS, AND RETREATS:
- Effectively lead and gather leaders for special events such as but not limited to Camps, Retreats, and Monthly Experiences
- Prepare an effective system that captures all data for HS Students including, but not limited to: record sheets from small groups and events.
- Attend all required Parkway Fellowship Staff Meetings and Events. Including weekly Student Ministry Events and Student Ministry Yearly Team Retreat.
- Perform any other duties as requested and/or assigned by the Lead Student Pastor.
