THE CHURCH

We are a non-denominational Christian church established in 2000 with the mission of seeking God’s heart & sharing His love. Our facility is nestled in a vintage Folsom neighborhood, but our church body is comprised of people from many surrounding cities.

Our services are at 9:00 am & 10:45 am and run about an hour and 15 minutes. We worship together through singing, biblical teaching, personal testimonies, and usually a short time to connect with one another. Serving the body together is important to us, so many of our members volunteer at one service and attend the other. We provide ministry for babies 8 weeks old up to 5th grade. Our core values prioritize people, intimacy with God, excellence, and relevance.

 THE ROLE

We desire to lead people into a time of reflection, appreciation, and adoration of our creator and emphasize that we are to worship God in all things. Our band consists of many different members ranging in age, style and experience. Though our team is diverse, we share the same goal; to worship God with sincere hearts and create an environment where people can experience God and develop deeper, more intimate relationships with him.

The goal of the Worship Arts Pastor is to minister the gospel and support Harbor’s vision by coordinating and leading our worship environments. The pastor will lead the worship team and the body of Harbor in authentic, heartfelt, and spiritual worship.

This position requires planning and executing musical components of worship, including, but not limited to, selecting and arranging music, developing and training volunteer worship members and tech teams, directing the weekly planning process, and working collaboratively within a team setting.

 THE DAY-TO-DAY

  • Function as the primary worship leader and chief musician
  • Schedule, train, and develop the worship band and tech teams
  • Lead weekly rehearsals with worship teams and host other training opportunities
  • Actively disciple worship band members to understand and demonstrate the gospel message and a worship lifestyle
  • Cultivate an inviting atmosphere where people are encouraged to worship God through music and singing Be a caretaker and encourager of all volunteers
  • Actively participate and contribute as a key member of the Harbor Staff
  • Attend Tuesday morning staff meetings
  • Function as a permanent vision team member (governing body of leaders @ Harbor)

Be Creative: Worship is diverse and intricate. Music is a tool God has given us to reflect His majesty and concentrate our hearts and minds on His greatness. Creativity is, in and of itself, a gift from God and a reflection of His character. Taking risks and expressing worship in dynamic ways is encouraged.

Be Prepared: The creative arts pastor’s responsibility is to help lead people into an awareness of God’s presence and significance. As such, it is imperative that they spend time preparing during the week in order to be equipped to lead the congregation.

Be Collaborative: We believe it is in the best interest of the church and the ministry to invite others to join in the creative process of song selection, musical execution, and overall direction.

Be Kingdom-Minded: Our mission is to seek God’s heart and share His love. Staff members are expected to participate in other ministries by volunteering, serving, and giving/receiving feedback.
