Are you an accounting leader that is also called to ministry? Do you love the Church and her mission? If so, this may be the right position for you. Rolling Hills is looking for a full time Controller to join our team. We are looking for a mission driven CPA, preferably with church or ministry experience (but not required).  The applicant must be a committed follower of Christ and active in his or her faith.

 

OBJECTIVE

The Controller is responsible for the full cycle accounting function that includes the Church, Leases, and Learning Center (weekday preschool program).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee and manage all accounting functions and the accounting team, ensuring the following tasks are completed through the Controller and/or other accounting team members:

- Reconcile statements including bank, credit card, payment processors, and investment accounts.

- Reconcile account balances monthly.

- Complete any data entry and general ledger entries for all campuses as needed.

- Cut checks for vendors and others when requested.

- Oversee recording of pledges and maintenance of pledge balances.

- Reconciliation and review of monthly credit card charges.

- Preparation and delivery of weekly giving reports.

- Manage lease accounting including monthly tenant invoicing, CAM reconciliation, and ongoing accounting.

- Manage Learning Center accounting including tuition receivables, registrations, and other accounting needs.

- Month-end analysis of accounts, assisting with financial report preparation.

- Preparation of monthly budget and actual reports for ministry leaders.

- Preparation of Form 1099 for vendors/contractors.

- Process bi-weekly payroll.

- Filing, storage, and security of financial documents. 

- Oversee cash handling and counting.

- Prepare and oversee cash flow analysis.

- File and complete quarterly tax returns.

- Attend and participate in monthly all-staff meetings.

- Additional responsibilities as determined by the Chief Financial Officer.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

- Accounting Degree or equivalent experience.

- CPA preferred (completed, pursuing, or willing to pursue)
