Family Pastor Search Information

Description:

The Family Ministry Pastor will lead/oversee the Family Ministries of Hunter First Baptist (Birth - High School). He will work directly with the Kids and Student Ministries of Hunter First by building ministry teams, partnering with parents, and shepherding the next generation to know and love Jesus.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A godly man who is actively seeking to meet the requirements of an elder as laid out in 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, and 1 Peter 3.
  • Agree doctrinally with the Baptist Faith in Message (2000).
  • Passionate about the gospel and the Great Commission.
  • Dedicated to learning and teaching God’s Word.
  • Leadership skills, discipleship experience, ministry experience, communication skills.
  • Teachable, humble, team player, and motivated. 

Ministry Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Kid’s Ministry, and Students Ministry programs and events.
  • Create an exciting environment to connect the next generation with God, His Word, and His Church.
  • Organize and equip Family Ministry Teams and volunteers by adequately scheduling and training qualified leaders to reach and disciple students.
  • Uphold student safety and policies at all times in all gatherings.
  • Develop and teach biblically-based lessons designed to engage and equip students.
  • Build relationships with the families.
  • Encourage, equip, and resource parents as the primary role in discipleship.
  • Assist in the overall health of the church by helping to maintain and enforce safety policies.
  • Serve on the Hunter First Baptist Church Caring Well Team.

Hunter First Baptist Church is located just outside of Elizabethton, Tennessee in the shadow the Appalachian Mountains. For nearly two centuries the people of Hunter First have worshiped and served together in the name of Jesus Christ. Through trials and triumph, God has equipped Hunter to be on mission in Carter County and around the globe. 

We are focused on making disciples of Jesus Christ within a transformational community. We do this by sharing Christ through Scripture, relationships, and service. Our families all play an important part in this mission and we are looking for someone to help us invest in our families. As a small Elder-led country church, we have dedicated volunteers committed to leading our kids and student ministries, but we need dedicated leadership to help us reach more for Christ. We are seeking someone who loves the Lord, His Word, and His people, and would follow the Lord to the beautiful mountains of Tennessee to reach families for Christ.
