About the Associate Pastor:

To lead and execute the overall vision, values, culture, systems, and strategies that facilitate the spiritual connections, discipleship, and hospitality needs within the life of Overflow church.

The Associate Pastor's Responsibilities Include: 

  • Lead/Facilitate planning and executing of each Life Group Semester, and developing Life Group Leaders

  • Lead/Facilitate the development and execution of Next Steps systems to engage and equip the body

  • Lead/Facilitate our guest experience by equipping and empowering our Dream Team

  • Lead/Facilitate the planning and execution of our Care Team systems & strategies to serve, visit, and pray for the body

What You Bring: 

The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Associate Pastor:

Education & Experience

  • Proven track record of leadership of volunteer teams at a church of 500 or larger

  • Experience in identifying, inviting, training, and empowering volunteers to lead Life Groups that make disciples

  • Oversee and manage Life  Group data administration (Group listings, rosters, reports)

  • Manage budget for Life Group Ministry and follow accounting procedures for ministry expenses

Personal Characteristics & Qualifications

  • Be a visionary and strategic thinker

  • Have a passion for helping others engage and grow in their faith

  • Have administrative, organizational, and time management skills

  • Be reliable, trustworthy, a self-starter, and follow through

  • Have commitment to scripture as spiritual authority

  • Humble and able to submit to authority of Lead Pastor

  • Exhibit a personal and growing relationship with God and have a teachable spirit

  • General computer literacy including written and oral communications skills

  •  Agreement with Overflow Church’s Vision and Statement of Faith

  • Maintain Godly priorities, conduct, and integrity

  • Be a culture carrier & protector

  • Be loyal and honoring to the vision and staff of Overflow Church and always protect the unity/vision of the church

Other Responsibilities

  • Supervise, Manage, and Develop Dream Team Partners

  • Available to help conduct Weddings and Funerals as needed

  • Invest and invite the lost to know Jesus and come to Overflow Church

  • Invite people to be a part of Overflow Church

  • Performs other duties as assigned/needed by Lead Pastor

  • Able & Willing to preach as needed

  • Attend Leadership Conferences & at times Travel with Staff/Pastors
