Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Work with pastor and ministry team to vision and recruit for, implement, and evaluate a children’s ministry aligned with Messiah’s vision, values, and vibe
  • Strategize and support program synergy with church’s worship, music, preschool, student, and community-outreach ministries
  • Vision for and execute faith-formation events for children and their families at various life-stages
  • Support and supervise volunteer and paid staff people
  • Manage people, events, and key systems within the ministry, and participate in the life of the church both administratively and spiritually

Requirements

  • Typical workweek has some degree of flexibility, but nearly all Sunday mornings as well as Tuesday staff meetings and other in-office mornings, and periodically, afternoon or evening meetings
  • There are summer events/programs where leadership and presence is critical as well
  • Comfort with church management software, project and people management

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree
  • two years successful experience in teaching, church ministry, or other related organizational experience
  • proven history of team-building and leadership
  • experience in music or other adjacent skills welcome
