Position Overview: Community of Hope Methodist Church is seeking a dedicated and dynamic pastor to lead our congregation in worship, spiritual development, community engagement, and mission outreach. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate servant leader who embraces Methodist theology, is committed to nurturing the spiritual growth of our members and to growing our community of faith.

Location: Mansfield, TX is a suburban city located in the south-central portion of the DFW metroplex and Tarrant County. Thirty minutes to the downtowns of both Dallas and Fort Worth and 15 minutes south of the Arlington Entertainment District (home of the Cowboys, Rangers, and Six Flags) makes Mansfield conveniently situated to all things fun in the metroplex. It is a racially and economically diverse community with a growing population of just under 80,000. The city is home to the highly rated Mansfield Independent School District serving over 35,000 students in K-12.

About Us: Community of Hope Methodist Church was founded in 2001. Recently, Community of Hope became an independent Methodist Church and is now a member of the Trinity College within the Methodist Collegiate Church. Our Cathedral Church within Trinity College is White’s Chapel Methodist Church in Southlake, TX. Each Sunday, approximately 85 people gather to worship on-site at Community of Hope for our contemporary style service which is live streamed on YouTube and Facebook.  We are a welcoming and inclusive congregation dedicated to making a positive impact in our local community and beyond.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide spiritual guidance and pastoral care to the congregation, while upholding faithfulness to the Doctrine & Order of the MCC.
  • Preach engaging and relevant sermons that inspire, challenge, and align with scripture and Methodist theology.
  • Lead contemporary worship services that foster a meaningful encounter with God.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for outreach and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with leadership and congregation to develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Recruit, develop, and mentor staff and volunteer leaders.
  • Oversee the administration, operational aspects, and ministries of the church.

Qualifications:

  • Master of Divinity or equivalent theological education from an accredited institution.
  • Experience as associate or local pastor leading worship and providing pastoral care.
  • Ordained or licensed by the MCC Dean on behalf of the whole church.
  • Strong preaching and teaching skills, with the ability to communicate biblical truths effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to cast vision, develop strategies, and lead a diverse congregation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relational skills, with a heart for pastoral care, community outreach and making disciples of Jesus Christ.
  • Proficient in organizational and administrative skills.
  • Commitment to personal spiritual growth and a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.
