Who We Are: Movement City Church(MCC), a vibrant and diverse Assemblies of God congregation, is on a mission to “be the movement that transforms our city one life at a time,” and we are excited to find our next lead pastor! Founded in 1910 and established as First Assembly of God in 1925, our church has a rich history of growth and community impact. Over the years, we have planted seven churches and, in 2000, moved to our current location on Altamesa Boulevard in Fort Worth.

Our congregation has since grown exponentially, reflecting the diversity of our community. It is known for its dynamic worship and strong financial stewardship. Our expansive campus spans over twenty-two acres, featuring a 94,000+ sq. ft. facility, 1,000-seat sanctuary, and a dedicated staff of 22+. With over 1,200 weekly attendees, Movement City Church is ready for significant growth and kingdom impact in the Fort Worth area. We are seeking a passionate and visionary lead pastor to guide us in this exciting journey.

Overview: Movement City Church is seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Pastor who has a heart for worship, evangelism, teaching, and revival. The ideal candidate will be called and determined to see the establishment of God’s kingdom in our assembly, community, country, and world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visionary Leadership:
    • Serve as a visionary leader and builder of people, employing, developing, and releasing individuals in their areas of strength.
    • Provide solid direction with a clear vision while being open to different approaches to accomplish the vision.
    • Cultivate a culture of collaboration that is inclusive, open-door, and creative.
  • Pastoral Leadership:
    • Proven track record of pastoral leadership, preferably having served as the lead pastor or senior associate pastor of another assembly larger than 500 people and/or leading a team of at least 15 people.
    • Recognize and leverage the gifts and callings from the Lord.
    • Encourage team members and go the extra mile to support them.
    • Be intentional about participation and inclusivity in decision-making.
  • Authoritative and Servant Leadership:
    • Strike a balance between authoritative and servant leadership.
    • Handle hard conversations with love and care, providing direction and correction when necessary.
    • Connect with people inside and outside the community, consistently serve others, and listen to advice.
    • Be available for people and the pastoral staff.
  • Worship Leadership:
    • Be a fervent, Spirit-filled, charismatic worshipper supportive of biblically based contemporary and culturally relevant expressions of worship.
    • Endorse the use of various worship teams within the church and campus locations.
    • Able to teach and operate in the gifts of the Spirit when appropriate.
  • Preaching and Teaching:
    • Motivate the congregation to fulfill the eternal purposes of God and the vision of our church through anointed, life-applicable, and scripturally-based sermons.
    • Be the main speaker at services but share the pulpit and provide opportunities for others to develop.
    • Demonstrate proficiency with conflict resolution and have strong people skills.
    • Be proficient in all forms of communication and supporting technologies.
    • You should be capable of operating various computer and database systems and understand the importance of leveraging technology for the church's ministry.
  • Management and Team Development:
    • Develop a management leadership team to lead and execute Movement City Church's global activities.
    • Possesses efficient time management skills required to accomplish objectives in a fast-paced environment.
    • Build, teach, and develop a core group of leaders who assist in meeting the needs of our people and extending God’s kingdom.
    • Nurture strong relationships with the MCC Leadership Team members and together pursue a healthy, functioning team environment.
  • Community and Missions:
    • Champion and guard the spiritual and doctrinal values of MCC.
    • Prioritize local, national, and international missions and community outreach.
    • Encourage the church to be involved with community events that impact the lives of all the people in the local communities that MCC serves.
    • Embrace a cross-cultural ministry context.
    • Promote and expand the work of world missions and support MCC’s missionaries regularly.

Qualifications:

  • Ordained by Assemblies of God
  • Master’s degree from an accredited College or University
  • Ten or more years of full-time pastoral or ministry experience
  • Two or more years of full-time executive level [or above] ministry experience
  • Exhibit deep faith and spiritual maturity, high moral standards, honesty, integrity, and ethical behavior.
  • Be approachable and make all feel comfortable.
  • Be enthusiastic and relatable to a multi-cultural congregation.
  • Ensure teaching style is aware of the audience's makeup.
  • Cast a vision that includes everyone, regardless of their spiritual journey.
  • Preach from a holistic biblical view to ensure well-rounded learning and growth.
  • Live passionately within the community and model engagement.
  • Show up and be present for God and the congregation.
  • Attract and model spirit-filled living, demonstrating strong anointing.
  • Prioritizes God and family
  • One that teaches and models generosity to advance the Kingdom of God.
  • Allow the Holy Spirit to lead, being sensitive to the voice of God.
  • Prepares and preaches scripturally-based, life-applicable sermons that speak to the congregation.
