Christian Covenant Church is a multi-ethnic, multi-generational, non-denominational church located in Victorville, California.  Founded in 1969 by service members stationed at George Air Force Base, they have a vision to reconcile their community and world to God through the love of Jesus Christ.

About the Youth and Young Adult Pastor:

This position is a part-time position with flexible office hours that reports to the Executive Pastor.  The main responsibility of this role is to implement evangelism and discipleship strategies to connect Youth and Young Adults to the Christian Covenant church body and community. 

The Youth and Young Adult Pastor's Responsibilities Include: 

Program Development

  • Plan and execute weekly creative and relevant bible studies, events, activities, and outreach programs for youth and young adults. 

  • Stay up-to-date on current trends and best practices in youth and young adult ministry.

  • Collaborate with church staff to ensure the youth and young adult ministry is integrated into the larger church community.

Leadership Development

  • Recruit, train, and develop volunteer leaders.

  • Empower youth and young people to take ownership of their faith and use their gifts to serve others.

  • Foster a culture of leadership and discipleship within the youth and young adult ministry.

Spiritual Development

  • Shepherd and provide pastoral care to youth and young adults. 

  • Equip youth and young adults with the tools and resources they need to grow in their faith.

Outreach and Connection

  • Build relationships with youth and young adults in the local high school and college and invite them to participate in church activities.  

  • Advocate for the needs and concerns of youth and young adults within the church and community.

Other responsibilities

  • Aid in general pastoral and administrative duties as requested by the Executive Pastor.  

  • On occasion, prepare and deliver Sunday morning sermons tailoring the message to a diverse congregation.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a ministry-related field. 

  • Pursuing or recently completed internship

  • 2+ years of volunteer experience in the local church

  • Community Outreach experience, preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bilingual in Spanish, preferred

  • Knowledge of scripture and biblical interpretation

  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills

  • Ability to connect with people and inspire action

  • Strong multi-tasking skills
