Position Overview
At Church of the Saviour in Wayne, Pennsylvania, we’re seeking a passionate and dedicated Care Ministry Pastor/Director to oversee a vibrant and diverse Care Ministry.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Develop, direct, and shepherd a biblically equipped infrastructure of staff, interns, lay counselors, and support/community group leaders to minister to the needs of those at Church of the Saviour and in our community.
2. Support the staff and volunteers to proactively champion their fulfillment of the church’s mission. Minister to those needing emotional care, helping them experience a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
3. Act as a biblical counseling resource to the ministries of Church of the Saviour by maintaining a base of external resources for counseling referrals that meet the specific needs.
4. Pursue ongoing professional educational training and development.
Leadership and Coordination
• Liaise with the Deacon Board – Oversee counseling efforts for Deacon clients.
• Provide Oversight to the Care Ministry Support Groups, such as Celebrate Recovery, Divorce Care, Grief Share, Financial Peace University, Stephen Ministry, etc.
• Model mature Christian discipleship and emotional intelligence.
Qualifications
• Strong Personal Faith: Your unwavering faith in Christ will inspire and guide your ministry. A clear profession of faith coupled with a consistent and close walk with Jesus Christ which is evidenced by both spiritual and emotional maturity
• Counseling and Care Ministry Experience: Ideally, you’ll have 5 or more years of counseling and/or church ministry.
• Education: Master’s degree in counseling or divinity, and an LPC are required. Familiarity with a broad range of counseling modalities will be necessary.
• Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
• Effective Proclamation: The ability to communicate biblically and relevantly is crucial in both small and large group settings.
• Shepherding: A person of integrity, authenticity, transparency marked by humility, and a servant’s heart who can minister effectively to both the churched and unchurched.
Compensation
This is a full-time position. We offer a competitive compensation package (i.e., salary and benefits) for the right combination of education, experience, and passion for a committed and mature counselor and disciple-maker.
