Associate Pastor

Position Description: Associate Pastor

Status: Full-time, salaried

General Purpose of Position:

The Associate Pastor will work under the strategic guidance of the Lead Pastor to carry out the ministry and vision of the church – to make and mature followers of Jesus Christ.

Potential Responsibilities and Duties (not all may apply )

• Discipleship – grow and equip leaders
• Work with ministry leaders and Life Group leaders in the church to ensure they receive appropriate development and training in their ministry areas
• Provide necessary support to leaders so that they can foster and nurture their volunteers
• Connect leaders throughout the church to ensure consistency and synergy of helping the church achieve its mission and vision
• Administration – steward the resources God has given the church
  • Perform administrative tasks such as budget development, organizing, managing, and tracking members and volunteers, and following up with new visitors
  • Oversee administrative and stewardship ministries such as accounting, buildings and grounds, and general administration
• Youth and Children – come alongside families to train up godly children
  • Lead ministry team in the development and execution of a plan to reimagine current youth ministry programs
• Outreach – reach our community with the Gospel
  • Establish relationships with organizations and systems within the community
  • Collaborate with churches of like faith (in primary doctrines) to reach the community
• Preaching and Teaching – proclaiming the Truth
  • Preach approximately once per month
  • Be on the teaching rotation for Bible Studies
  • Lead a Life Group each semester
• Pastoral Care Responsibilities (as needed when Lead Pastor is unavailable)
  • Counseling / hospital visits / phone calls / wellness checks

 Qualifications

• Qualifications for pastors as outlined in Titus 1 and 1 Timothy 3.
• Bachelors Degree in Biblical Studies or equivalent
• 2-3 years of vocational Pastoral experience
