LIVING HOPE COMMUNITY CHURCH

Campus Pastor 2024

Purpose & Vision:

The Campus Pastor serves the church in a full-time capacity as prescribed by the Church Constitution and the Elders. Partnering with the pastors and staff, the main duties are shepherding, outreach, teaching and the overall leadership of the local campus.

 

Key Responsibilities at Living Hope:

  • Core, Staff and Ministry Team leadership, coordination and support (30%)
  1. Provide leadership and direction to the staff
  2. Provide leadership to the overall church through the staff and ministry teams
  3. Provide pastoral support to the staff as needed
  • Congregation (30%)
  1. Sunday preaching as part of the preaching team at Living Hope
  2. Weekly gathering execution (worship, service, next steps through relational discipleship)
  3. Equip the congregation for ministry through the discipleship process
  4. Engage new and emerging young leaders
  5. Support alignment of campus and vision of the overall church
  • Community Connection (20% )
  1. Connect with the leaders and business community of your town
  2. Reach individuals for Christ through regular time in the community
  3. Spend time at local schools and community events
  4. Learn people’s names and stories  
  • Strategic participation in overall campus ministry of the Church (10%)
  1. Support and connect with the Senior Leadership Team to promote Next Steps
  2. Support and connect with ministry team leaders to advance local ministry opportunities
  3. Live out the reproducible discipleship process through modeling, teaching and participation 
  • Preaching and sermon development (10%)
    1. Participate with the overall Living Hope Preaching Planning to develop the annual plan for Sundays
    2. Participate in the weekly service and sermon planning meetings
    3. Preach regularly at the campus as part of the preaching team

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Grow Living Hope campuses by at least 10-20% annually
  • Maintain a minimum of 50% participation rate in Groups
  • Maintain a minimum of 50% participation rate in serving opportunities
  • Duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor
  • Attend weekly preaching planning meetings 
  • Attend weekly all campus staff meeting & lead individual campus staff meeting
  • Have a visible presence of connecting with people at the campus and in the community
  • Maintain a healthy balance of home life, ministry and community connection

Education:

  • Seminary degree preferred
  • Continuing education through mentoring, reading, conferences and classwork

 

Weekly accountability: 

  • Meet with the Lead Pastor to review goals, progress and action items
  • Personal connecting at campus level with community & congregation
  • Strategic connections (staying in touch with those who are especially generous with time, money and involvement). 

 

Accountability:

The Campus Pastor is accountable to and reports directly to the Lead Pastor. This individual will have an annual evaluation based on this position description and goals.  All new hires are subject to a 90 day probationary period.
