Job Overview 

The nature of this position is to provide leadership and administration for all areas of adult discipleship at Foothills.

Compensation

We pay a competitive salary using a national pastoral wage scale to help guide us. It factors in education, experience, size of church, location and other data inputs. We also offer a health benefit package (including dental & vision), matching retirement, and professional expense account. 

Qualifications

  • Has a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus that overflows in a lifestyle consistent with 1 Timothy 3 and Titus. 
  • Models a balance between family life, personal life and ministry.
  • Agrees with the doctrine, covenant, mission statement of Foothills and champions them. 
  • Strives for excellence and is humble and teachable.
  • Has the desire and gifting to disciple a broad range of people in individual, small group settings, and in building out a discipleship movement within a church. 
  • Communicator who is able to teach and preach with clarity and conviction. 
  • Bachelors Degree with a Master’s Degree from a Seminary preferred. 
  • 5+ years experience in church ministry or Christian organization.
  • Keeps a presence in the community and lives within the North Santiam School District boundary so as to easily be available to hold meetings or respond to needs in the community.

Main Responsibilities

  • Creates discipleship pathways for people to grow in their faith.
  • Responsible for coordinating, implementing and evaluating the Group system (adult/family small groups focused on fellowship, discipleship and prayer in community).
  • Preaches on Sunday as designated for approximately 8-12 Sundays during a calendar year.
  • Prays regularly for the church and sees prayer as a critical part of life of the church.
  • A flexible team player valuing the team’s success over individual achievement. Jumps in to help other pastoral staff when needed.
  • Servant Leader who will do everything possible to make the church leadership a success.

Stayton is a rural bedroom community of 11,000, including our sister town, Sublimity. We are located 20 minutes east of Salem, Oregon and are within 75 miles from the beaches of the Oregon coast, skiing in the Cascade mountain range, and the city of Portland.
