Summary of Position

 

The Hudson Worship Leader is a part-time position working with the Hudson Campus Pastor to provide direction and consistency to worship at their campus. This includes anchoring songs in theological truth and accentuating the message to lead people into the presence of God each week. This position will be responsible to pastor, coach, lead, and develop their campus worship team to promote authentic worship and proclaim the uncompromised message of the gospel. Because Fellowship holds team as a core principle of leadership, the person in this position must be comfortable “stacking hands” and working collaboratively with the team to achieve church-wide goals.

 

Essential Functions

 

• Meet regularly with the Hudson Campus Pastor to assure alignment of vision.

• Carry the vision for the worship services and execute locally with excellence by recruiting, developing, and leading a volunteer campus worship team.

• Build community and cultivate spiritual growth within the campus worship team.

• Create and sustain a cultural approach consistent with all of Fellowship City campuses for the “sound of the house” (decibel level, types of songs selected, instrumental style, etc.).

… plan worship and schedule team members for major holidays and events (including, but not limited to, Easter, Vision Sunday, and Christmas).

… plan worship and schedule team members for special events (including, but not limited to, Staff Chapel, Weddings, and Funerals).

• Work with the media team to ensure tech and sound systems function appropriately.

• Communicate campus-specific needs, feedback, and issues to central support.

 

Desired Competencies

 

• Proficient in leading worship with a strong vocal ability; comfortable being on stage and also comfortable with others leading.

• Able to play an instrument (strongly recommended but not required).

• Familiar with current worship music and leadership trends.

• A strong work ethic, proactive, energetic, dependable, and adaptable.

• Positive interpersonal and influence skills; adept at recruiting, building, and developing teams.

• A pastoral heart for the spiritual formation of those on the campus worship team.

• Live a lifestyle of worship embracing the belief that worship extends beyond the stage to encompass every facet of life.
