Cross Bridge Church Student Ministries Pastor
Job Description
The Student Ministries Pastor oversees all aspects of the Cross Bridge student ministry
7th grade through 12th. This requires a firm grasp of the Mission, Vision, Core Values,
and Strategies of Cross Bridge and the ability to recruit and lead volunteer teams. This
Pastor will be responsible for the following:
All Cross Bridge and Cross Bridge Learning Center staff are required to model
Biblical priorities, including but not limited to:
Upholding the Biblical priorities and core values of Cross Bridge Church; representing a
growing personal relationship with Christ; modeling a strong relationship with his or her
spouse and children (if applicable); striving to fulfill his or her purpose in life and ministry
while demonstrating integrity in words, relationships, and actions.
These objectives are accomplished by:
? Committing to a daily quiet time with God.
? Participating in (not necessarily leading) a small group.
? Setting appropriate boundaries to protect character and integrity.
? Developing personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church.
? Modeling trust in God’s provision and supporting the ministries of Cross
Bridge Church by faithful tithing (at a minimum).
? Adhering to the qualities and characteristics required of Cross Bridge
employees as defined by the Staff Manual.
1. Oversite & Execution of Leadership Development within Student Ministries
? Lead students and their families to follow Jesus.
? Invite, follow up, train, and empower volunteers and key student leaders to
provide leadership within student ministries.
? Communicate weekly and meet monthly with Student Ministries Leaders in
order to build ownership and equip them to lead other volunteers. This team
will function as a planning team for major events and an advisory team for
decisions that affect Cross Bridge students.
? Create systems and events to thank and appreciate Student Ministries
volunteers.
2. Oversight and Execution of Student Ministries
? The Mission of Cross Bridge Student Ministries is to help students move from
where they are to where God wants to them to be. In order to accomplish this,
the Pastor will need to:
o Be a Spiritual Leader to the students and minister to the student’s families.
o Pray regularly for them
o Ensure absentees are followed up on consistently
o Orchestrate and lead Wednesday night student ministries
services/activities.
o Develop a planned ‘student section’ for Sunday morning services where
student leaders are sitting with students to encourage them to come and
worship, thus encouraging them to attend Wednesday evenings and
Sunday mornings. Help students grasp the importance of worshiping and
serving, encouraging them to worship one service and serve one service
on Sunday mornings.
o Provide regular opportunities for fellowship, and discipleship events for
students.
o Work with Worship & Creative Arts to ensure an effective musical worship
atmosphere for Wednesday night services.
3. Schedule, Management, Meetings, and Other
? Hold office hours Monday-Thursday
? Sunday is expected to be a full workday
? Weekly one-on-one meeting with Lead Pastor
? Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Meetings
o Weekly Tactical Meeting
o Weekly Worship Planning Meeting
o Monthly Strategic Staff Meeting
o Quarterly Offsites
? Up to 3 1-Day Offsite Senior Staff meetings per year
? One 2-3-Day Offsite Senior Staff meeting in the fall
? Develop and submit a draft annual budget to the Business Manager for all
Student Ministries items and manage Student Ministries expenses in line with the
corresponding approved budget.
? Be committed to reaching our local community through schools and other
avenues, in your role as a pastor and through community-focused activities for
the Student Ministries leaders and the students.
? Partner with the Children’s Ministry Pastor to help ensure smooth transitions
between The Bridge (5th-6th grade) and Student ministries, including revising
current programming (as might be needed) which impacts those near the
transition point.
? All other duties as assigned.
Employment At-Will:
All employees of Cross Bridge Church are at-will, and as such, are free to resign at any
time without reason. Cross Bridge Church, likewise, retains the right to terminate any
employee’s employment at any time with or without reason or notice.
