Student/Contemporary Worship Minister

Lakeshore has been experiencing growth since January, 2023. God has brought us to the place where we need to add to our ministry staff team.

Therefore, we are seeking an individual who can join our team in the role of Student and Worship Minister. This is a full-time ministerial position that serves a dual role under the oversight of the Eexecutive Pastor. The individual serving in this ministry position will be responsible for leading students in discipleship opportunities that foster a relationship with Jesus Christ. Furthermore, this individaul will be responsible for leading the church in worship through planning, conducting, and evaluating the Sunday morning contemporary worship service (11:15 service only).

Lakeshore Baptist Church 

Full-Time Position 

Reports to: Executive Pastor (EP)             

General Description  

The Student and Worship Minister is a full-time ministerial position that serves a dual role under the oversight of the EP. The minister is responsible for leading students in discipleship opportunities that foster a relationship with Jesus Christ. Furthermore, the minister is responsible for leading the church in worship through planning, conducting, and evaluating the Sunday morning contemporary worship service. 

General Requirements  

The person in this position:  

• has a clear profession of faith and a love for the church 

• a bachelor’s degree in ministry, education, or a related field from an accredited school preferred 

• serves joyfully as a servant leader 

• has a clear musical ability and heart to lead God’s people in worship 

• has excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

• has a desire to reach and lead students (grades 7th-12th) in growing a spiritual relationship with Christ 

• acts with integrity to comply with church policies and procedures, maintain confidentiality, and use resources appropriately 

• practices and promotes teamwork 

Student Minister (SM) functions:  

1. Provide clear leadership for the student ministry that is consistent with the mission, vision,    

      and strategy of the church. 

     2. Cultivate teamwork by working with the student ministry team to organize and implement a 

     plan for ministry for leading students to salvation and to disciple them in a relationship with     

     Jesus Christ. 

     3. Organize and implement a clear teaching plan for training students in the knowledge and 

     understanding of biblical truth.

     4. Train leaders by seeking to identify, recruit, and equip students to serve in the ministry of     

     the church.

     5. Develop and oversee the student ministry budget and maintain appropriate data.

Worship Minister (WM) functions: 

     1. Cultivate an Environment of Transformative Worship:

Lead by example and inspire the congregation to engage in worship that deepens their relationship with the Living God and fosters personal growth.

     2. Plan Engaging Worship Services: 

Collaborate with the Senior Pastor, Production Team, and other ministry team leaders to plan weekly worship services that engage the church in spiritually formative practices and experiences. Select appropriate songs and utilize creative elements to cultivate worship. Secure music materials, supplies, instruments, and other equipment necessary.

3. Oversee Worship Rehearsals: 

Coordinate and lead worship rehearsals, ensuring that musicians and production team members are well-prepared and equipped for worship services.

4. Develop Worship Musicians:

Seek to develop a process that actively identifies and recruits individuals from the church body who possess musical gifts and a heart for worship. Provide training and support to help develop their skills and to lead worship effectively. 

These responsibilities and duties may be reviewed annually, or sooner as the need arises, by the Personnel Committee to better refine the responsibilities and duties of the Student and Worship Minister with regard to the church mandates, mission, vision, and ministries.
