About the Role:
The worship arts pastor will lead and develop a growing community of artists that help others to encounter God through music and other art forms which leads them to worship Him in spirit and truth. He must have a passionate relationship with Jesus Christ and possess strong music, presentation, and production abilities. Also, the worship arts pastor will possess strong inter-personal skills in order to recruit and shepherd volunteers, build teams, and gather people to serve in the worship ministry of the church.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of full-time church ministry preferred
- Able to become licensed and ordained as a C&MA pastor
- Can stand behind and defend with integrity the C&MA Statement of Faith
- Musically skilled – vocal and instrumental proficiency
- History of developing instrumentalists and vocalists
- Ability to lead band well, understanding instrumentation and charts
- Understands, enjoys, and can lead a variety of musical styles
- Able to conduct and lead the occasional choir and/or orchestra
- Experienced with Planning Center, Pro Presenter, worship music track technology, etc
- Comfortable working on a multi-staff church

Responsibilities
- Work closely with executive pastor and preaching pastor to craft meaningful weekly worship experiences
- Act as primary worship leader providing a consistent pastoral presence leading congregation in worship that is glorifying to our Lord
- Direct the planning, organizing, conducting, and evaluating of a comprehensive music ministry which includes choir, orchestra, and vocal/instrumental ensembles
- Select worship songs that align with scripture
- Recruit and develop volunteer instrumentalists and vocalists
- Lead weekly rehearsal with an eye and ear for excellence
- Shepherd and guide our worship ministry volunteers
- Foster creativity within our worship teams
- Schedule volunteers
- Attentive to the worship needs of other church ministries
- Oversee, train, and mentor volunteers for student worship ministry
- Provide worship and/or music for funerals
