Overview: Oversee the Youth and Children’s Ministry in accordance with the mission and vision of THBC.
Reports to: Senior Pastor, Ministry Board
Supervises: Youth and Children’s Ministry Volunteers
Qualifications: Meet the Biblical qualifications of a pastor/elder
Education-Bachelor’s Degree preferred
-If theological/Biblical studies were not a part of your college education, there would be an expectation to actively pursue some form of theological training.
Agreement with the Statement of Faith for Temple Hill Baptist Church and the ability to work under the guidelines as listed in the church constitution.
Expectations:
- To work in harmony with pastoral and support staff, relating in a manner that results in an effective and positive influence.
- To be an effective communicator of God’s Word in teaching, training, counseling, and discipling situations.
- Personally connect with current members and new attenders, and work with the Pastoral Staff on assimilation of new families.
- To serve as an active member of our Ministry Board (elder board) and our Christian Education Committee.
- To work an average of 40 hours per week (with some flexibility as needed).
- To faithfully take a day off each week for rest and spiritual vitality.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Youth and Children’s Ministry
- To develop an ongoing, strategic plan for reaching, teaching, and discipling youth to be fully committed Christ followers.
- Effective communication of mission, vision, and direction with parents and church leadership.
- To recruit, develop, and train a team of adults for ministry with youth and children.
- Coordinating and planning the Youth and Children’s Ministry curriculum, effectively communicating it to church leadership and parents.
- Coordinating, planning, and overseeing youth and children’s activities and calendar, including timely communication and promotion of events with office staff (for church calendar purposes) and parents.
- To be responsible for the development and management of the Youth and Children’s Ministry portion of the budget, including accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Oversee the weekly Sunday program for children birth – 12th grade (Nursery, Puggles, Preschool, Club 631, Youth Group).
- Regular involvement with our Wednesday night children’s ministry.
- Miscellaneous Responsibilities:
- Work with the Pastoral Staff to plan and implement the weekly Sunday service.
- Meet weekly with pastoral staff for prayer, accountability, and planning.
- Be able to preach a couple Sundays each year as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
