Youth and Young Adult Ministry Director
The Youth and Young Adult Ministry Director will be a fulltime position primarily responsible for shepherding those from 6th grade through early twenties as part of the overall strategy of discipleship at GracePoint. The director will implement the discipleship strategy for youth and young adults, including areas such as programming, events, and activities that promote spiritual growth. The director will also facilitate the development of mentoring relationships among youth and young adults.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
A personal sense of calling from God and a passion for the discipleship of teens and young adults.
A life that evidences a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Bible competency and a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate the Word of
God with teens. (Formal Bible education is preferred.)
A teachable spirit and evidenced desire to grow in excellence in ministry.
Strong interpersonal skills necessary to build relationships with teens, young adults,
parents, volunteers, and the staff of GracePoint EF Church.
Strong administrative skills and attention to detail.
Wholehearted alignment with the GracePoint Statement of Faith.
Committed advocate of the Mission, Vision, Values, and Constitution and By-laws of
GracePoint EF Church, and a willingness to become a member of the church.
Communicate GracePoint’s vision and strategy for the discipleship of youth and young adults with families, volunteers, and the congregation as a whole.
Recruit, equip, encourage, and schedule volunteers for the various youth and young adult programs, events and activities.
Grow opportunities to build relationships with parents of youth.
Develop a youth ministry leadership team and facilitate regularly scheduled meetings.
Develop a young adult ministry leadership team and facilitate regularly scheduled meetings.
Evaluate and select resources needed to enhance youth and young adult discipleship.
Plan and coordinate supplemental ministry opportunities such as retreats, mission
trips and service projects.
Regularly teach as part of the youth and young adult ministry teaching rotations.
Participation in weekly church staff meetings.
Administration of Youth and Young Adults:
Manage attendance records for youth and young adult ministries.
Provide weekly communication to families and volunteers of youth, and with the
young adults.
Gather resources and supplies for youth ministry volunteers.
Creatively decorate and leverage youth ministry space to advance the discipleship of
teens.
Facilitate a seamless transition for youth and young adults into the adult ministries of
the church.
Manage safety & background screening for new volunteers in youth ministry.
Establish, administrate, and effectively utilize a youth and young adult ministry
budget.
Assist in the development of a Family Ministries Handbook.
Other responsibilities as assigned by pastoral team.
