The primary function of the Gathering Director is to lead, manage, and coordinate the music ministry and worship of the Church. He/She will function on a full-time basis as a member of the professional ministry staff, and be an active part of The River Church. He/She will work with the Gathering Pastor and team to set the spirit and order of all the worship gatherings.  The gathering director is responsible for training and shepherding bands and overseeing the planning and implementation of each gathering structure, including musical selection, arrangements, and production ministries.

Qualifications: The Gathering Director must possess a godly, and faithful character that exemplifies the Spirit filled walk of a child of God (1 Cor. 4:1,2; 1 Tim. 4:12). He/She must be a worshiper (Jn. 4) who senses the call of God to use his/her gifts in motivating, mobilizing, and maximizing the musical resources available in the Church. He/She should be a teacher, ministering to the musical and spiritual needs of the Body of Christ, and be capable of presenting a well rounded, balanced approach to music and the arts in public worship, including a sense that God has gifted him/her with both special and learned abilities to draw Christians to a place where they can worship Him in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:24; 1 Tim. 4:13-16). He/She shall be a professionally trained musician, who has experience and appreciation for both the traditional and more contemporary forms of worship

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee and Lead the worship and production ministry and overall weekend gatherings at the location
• Support The River Church as a whole with worship, production and project support as requested 

Responsibility Details:

• Engaging, clear communication and spiritual leadership from the stage
• Oversee all musical direction, band and vocal leaders
• Expand the leadership base of the location by identifying, mentoring and mobilizing future leaders for worship and production
• Schedule bands, singers and songs for the location in Planning Center
• Create master song list for location via Planning Center 3 times per year
• Lead the Location in Worship during Gatherings
• Conduct tryouts and application process for the location
• Treat every practice as important
• Come early, leave late
• Always be a month ahead of schedule on Planning Center
• Oversee/Create and maintain Playback
• Oversee/Create and maintain ProPresenter
• Maintain stage cleanliness and layout
• Manage stage setup and teardown
• Lead the worship band volunteers in a devotion before every practice
• Ensure practice runs efficiently and effectively
• Set up and implement practice times and effectively communicate to the worship band and production team
• Create/Build/Assist with Stage Design and Stage Lighting
• Works directly with the Gathering Pastor to assess all gatherings and events for the negatives, positives and direction
• Maintain Live, Multi Camera Video switching and live streaming for gatherings
• Record, Render and Upload Sermon every Sunday
• Oversee Network and I.T. at location, with assistance from Locations Gathering Director/River I.T. Director
• Lead the vision of gather within the context of The River Church, specifically the location, and looking for ways to take swings, innovate and push the gospel message forward.
• Implement/Oversee overall communication and graphic design quality control set by communication team as it relates to production

Secondary Responsibilities (As Needed):

• Provide support for church events as requested: Summer Camps, Passion Play, Prison Trips, Other Ministries, Funerals, Weddings
• Assist with Gathering Team projects at other River Locations, or for Large River events as requested
