River City Church is looking for a Youth Pastor. The Youth Pastor will provide leadership and strategy to the 6-12 grade students ministry, facilitate deep collaboration, and work toward ongoing alignment with River City Kids and the people to whom they
minister, providing them with the best opportunity to become fully mature followers of Christ.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead Youth communicator, Sunday morning programming and execution, daily operation of River City Youth, etc.
- Facilitate collaboration leading to the development and implementation of a holistic family discipleship strategy.
- Recruit, train, and multiply staff and volunteer leaders.
- Work with the River City Executive Team to formulate and oversee the Youth strategy and budget.
- Implement and oversee the collaboratively developed discipleship resources in youth ministry.
- Provide pastoral care, including hospital visits, meetings, and other ministry opportunities.
- Intentionally cultivate a more profound personal faith and seek opportunities for soul care.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reach out to unchurched youth in the community, engage them with the gospel, and involve them in the church's work.
- Participate in general pastoral duties as needed (weddings, funerals, counseling, etc.).
- Collaborate with the Children’s Ministry team to develop a long-term vision for the church's engagement with children and youth.
- Lead efforts to minister to the parenting needs of the church body.
- Regularly report to the church’s Executive Team about ministry-related updates.
- Oversee all summer activities in which the church’s youth participate.
- Regularly lead the youth in short-term missions experiences.
- Work with other church leaders to find ministry opportunities in the broader church family.
- Participate in all staff meetings, small group and outings.

REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 5 years vocational experience providing pastoral ministry to children, youth and families
- Growing, godly character and a Christ-Centered life
- A clear calling to work with students and their families
- An understanding of relational ministry
- Creativity and innovative thinking about ministering to the next generation
- Flexible and organized with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
The Youth Pastor will be teachable and have a strong commitment to self and staff development. Viable candidates must give evidence of the ability to lead and appropriately hold accountable individuals, groups, and teams that produce measurable results against
the predetermined goals and objectives. A participative, collaborative, team-oriented culture is the desire of the church, and this leader must be characterized by these same values.
A well-established theological construct, ecclesiology, and an in-depth knowledge of scripture are necessary for the wisdom and biblically based decision-making demands of this position. Leading candidates will possess a biblical theology that is consistent
with that of River City Church, its Elders, and the Lead Pastor.
