Job Description:

Purpose: To assist the families of Memorial Park Church by inviting their children to Love People. Know Jesus. Live Transf0rmed. 

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferred
  • Strong relational skills to connect with parents and children
  • An evangelical, reformed and missional world-view with experience in children’s ministries
  • Must be in agreement with the Mission, Vision and By-laws of Memorial Park Church

Accountability:

The Early Childhood Coordinator shall be directly accountable to the Director of Family Life and Discipleship.
The Early Childhood Coordinator will work closely with the Elementary Coordinator and the Administrative Assistant to Children’s Ministries. 
Children’s Ministries at MPC are ministries of the Family Ministries Department.
 

Position Status:

This is a full-time exempt position.

Program Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and facilitate the ministry of leaders for MPC Kids (Sunday morning) in Early Childhood, ages 2-K.
  • Recruit and Facilitate for kids Wednesday Night Programming.
  • Recruit for and lead in all aspects of Summer Surge Junior Camp.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of mission projects and Home-Court Advantage BELONG activities such as the Fall Family Night, Christmas Kickoff, and an Easter Celebration event, including designing advertisement and maintaining registration/fees.
  • Participate in Full Staff meetings, Family Ministry Team meetings and Children’s Ministry meetings
  • Provide regular communication to leaders and lead quarterly Leader’s Huddles.
  • Participate in Home-Court Advantage LEARN activities.
  • Provide practical implementation and spiritual direction of the nursery curriculum and other age-appropriate materials for the children and their parents. Instruct and demonstrate to the child-care providers how to incorporate music, reading, and spiritual conversation into their interaction with the children. Provide training, curriculum, music, craft materials, and toys for weekday early childhood programs such as WTW and MOPS.
  • Deliver a Newborn Parents Gift Bag to the newborn’s parents, including a “welcome to our world” CD, greeting card, nursery information, and perhaps a meal (perhaps coordinated and delivered by a Women’s Ministry representative) along with the Nursery Coordinator.
    Communicate with the Director of Business Operations regarding Nursery Staff payroll and Nursery budget issues
     

Administrative Responsibilities (to be shared with Administrative Assistant) 

1.         Maintain class rosters, parent contact lists, and check-in system within MPC Connect. 

2.         Send communications to absent members and new visitors.  

3.         Maintain the status of all child protection clearances and training for volunteers. 

4.         Collect and maintain weekly attendance records from check-in and offering. Provide reports. 

5.         Print and distribute Homefront Weekly and Homefront Monthly and the Family Guide each new school year. 

6.         Provide regular communication with parents and leaders via bulletin boards, emails, Good News articles, the church website, mailings, the church bulletin, and verbal announcements. 

7.         Order supplies and resources. Maintain well-organized Resource Rooms. 

8.         Oversee administrative duties for Summer Surge (registration, confirmation, squad and team lists, health forms, mailings, volunteer communication, etc.)  

9.         Recruit and schedule staff and volunteers for weekend worship services (Saturday and Sunday), and other programs such as: MOPS, Wednesday WTW, New Members, First Wednesdays, special worship services, and other all church events as requested.

10.     Coordinate mandatory training for all current and potential child-care providers which includes childcare techniques, First Aid, and procedures for the utilization of the church nursery. Complete clearances and background checks for all employees and volunteers over age 18.
