YOUTH PASTOR / STUDENT MINISTRY DIRECTOR

Position Overview
The Student Ministry Director oversees Liberty Student Ministry (LSM) with the goal of leading 6th – 12th grade students to become mature followers of Jesus Christ. The LSM Director will be passionate about ministering to students and able to train and equip
an adult volunteer leadership team to assist in carrying out LSM objectives.

LSM Objectives
- Lead students to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Help students grow in their faith.
- Engage families in the life and discipleship of their students.
- Build community among students.
- Facilitate students’ active participation in the Body of Christ.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Student Ministry
- Communicate God’s Word effectively to students in large and small group settings.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee discipleship strategy.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee weekly gatherings, retreats, camps, and community outreach events.
- Manage a budget responsibly.
- Develop social media and website content pertaining to LSM.
- Adult Leadership Team
- Recruit and develop an adult volunteer leadership team.
- Empower the adult leadership team to accomplish LSM objectives.
- Church & Pastoral Team Involvement
- Actively participate in the life and ministry of the Liberty Church body.
- Attend weekly staff meetings and work closely with Liberty’s pastoral staff to help fulfill the Liberty Church mission: Lead People to New Life In Christ & Together Discover the Joy of – Community, Ministry, Generosity & Family.
- Collaborate with the Community & Family Life Pastor to engage families in the life and discipleship of their students.
- Collaborate with Liberty’s Kids Ministry Director to provide strategic alignment for student and children’s ministries.
- Champion LSM to the church body through updates, testimonies, and pictures.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Contribute in unique ways to the life of the Church and Pastoral Team based on your unique skills and gifting.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate consistent Christian character
- Teachable
- Team builder
- Excellent written and verbal skills in multiple contexts, both with students and parents.
- Education
- Batchelor’s degree preferred or in process
- Ministry Experience
- Working with youth and adults
- Building teams
