Kids Minister

Position:                     Children’s Minister

Reports To:               Campus Minister

The Kids Minister’s purpose is to come alongside parents and caregivers as they disciple their children and student to grow in their relationship with God. The Kids Minister is responsible for the development and implementation of people and programming that will help children from birth through fifth grade become, grow, and live as disciples of Jesus Christ.

 1. QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
2. Minimum of three years implementing a dynamic, growing children’s ministry preferred.
3. Ability to recruit, motivate, train and equip volunteers necessary to successfully accomplish departmental goals.
4. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
5. Be a happily committed member of The Branch by:

 2. RELATIONSHIPS

1. Reports directly to the Farmers Branch Campus Minister.
2. Works closely with the Farmers Branch Staff and Vista Ridge Kids Minister
3. Establishes and maintains good working relationships with lay leaders and ministry volunteers

 3. RESPONSIBILITIES

Basic Assignment:

• Implement Sunday morning Branch Kids programming
• Identify, train, and empower volunteers for ministry
• Work as an effective member of the FB team

Specific Responsibilities:

• Attend chapel weekly
• Attend FB team meeting weekly
• Attend 1:1 with Campus Minister weekly
• Be in constant communication with Vista Ridge Kids Minister to ensure programming is in line with Branch Constants
• Work with FB Youth Minister to ensure an efficient “hand-off” from kids to youth
• Edit and distribute curriculum for Sunday Mornings
• Actively identify, train, and coach volunteers
• Manage kids volunteer coordinators
• Execute First-Time guest follow up process
• Help plan and execute other campus or Kids Ministry events
• Work with Vista Ridge Kids Minister to execute Kids Camp
• Lead interns over the summer
• Pray regularly for the kids
• Participates in other pastoral functions as assigned by the Campus Minister or Family Minister
• Develops and maintains positive and productive working relationships with staff members and volunteers, as well as with the children, students and parents who are the focus of the NextGen department.
• Attend a service once a week
