Minister of Music (Contemporary)

The Worship Place (TWP) is an interdenominational church that exists to glorify God and exalt His name through worship, prayer, taking part in fulfilling the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. Its two campuses are located within and immediately outside Sun City Texas in Georgetown Texas. Its members are made up primarily of senior and/or retired adults and are a community of committed Christians who have covenanted with God and one another to grow into the image of Jesus Christ.

TWP is currently seeking to fill the fulltime position of Minister of Music for its Rocky Hollow campus located at 375 County Road 245, Georgetown, TX. The primary purpose of this position is to assist in leading the congregation to worship God acceptably with reverence and awe consistent with TWP’s mission, vision and values.

Reporting directly to TWP Senior Pastor, the successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

• Plan and direct Sunday services that include music, Scripture, prayer, and other elements that facilitate congregational worship
• Recruit, train, and utilize the musical gifts of members (e.g. choir, instrumentalists, praise team, soloists) in a way that enhances congregational worship
• Produce special musical programs that support seasonal events and Holy Days
• Manage and maintain music and streaming licenses
• Administrate the budget for the music program
• Provide pastoral care and support to all those involved in the music ministry
• Participate in weekly staff meetings
• Fulfill pastoral responsibilities as needed for funerals, weddings, teaching, and spiritual care
• Support church-wide programs and special events
• Supervise staff musicians and prepare annual evaluations
• Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor

To qualify for the position, the candidate must meet the following position requirements:

• Master’s degree from a credentialed Christian seminary preferred
• Minimum 5-years of experience in church ministry
• Ordained for gospel ministry by a denomination or association of churches
• Skilled in vocal and/or instrumental music
• Strong leadership, planning & organizing, and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Submissions should include links to 3 worship services in which the candidate participated
