Youth & Children's Pastor

Job Description

This position functions as an assistant pastor role at WBC, prioritizing youth and children’s ministries.

Primary responsibilities for the youth ministry are: maintaining and leading consistent Wednesday night gathering, leading and mentoring existing student leadership team, planning and organizing other events (i.e. Homecoming Tailgate, Fall Retreat, Disciple Now, and Summer Camp).

The primary responsibilities for the children’s ministry include: organizing Sunday morning Sunday School, leading a fall and spring Awanas program, leading a summer VBS program, and planning periodic events.

Qualifications

1. Be a committed Christian who agrees with the theology, doctrines, and practices of the Unity of the Brethren
2. Skilled at leading, organizing, motivating, educating, and mentoring both children and youth to become followers of Jesus and participants in his kingdom
3. Bachelor’s Degree (Seminary training preferred)
4. Strong written and oral communication skills
5. Capable of working in teams, with staff and church volunteers, to execute various ministries
6. Valid drivers’ license with insurance
7. Pass background check

Pastoral Accountability

The Youth and Children’s Pastor will be accountable to the Senior Pastor and the Board of Elders
