mosaic is a church plant from Cornerstone Church in Ames, IA that launched Easter 2021. We exist to reach broken people with the redeeming gospel of Jesus Christ. We seek to reach the lost in our community and introduce them to the Savior and walk with them through a discipleship process where they can grow in their relationship with Jesus.
ABOUT MARSHALLTOWN
Marshalltown is located in Central Iowa about an hour NE of Des Moines. The population is just under 30,000 and has only 8% of the population who are actively engaged evangelicals. Marshalltown High School is one of three “majority minority” schools in the State of Iowa. With over 70 languages spoken in the school system there is a rich tradition of diversity in the community. If multicultural ministry is an interest to you, then Marshalltown could be a great place to be.
ABOUT THIS ROLE: Worship Pastor/Director (Full Time)
We are looking to place an emphasis on the pastoral part of “Worship Pastor.” We are looking for someone who has a shepherd heart and loves using music and creativity to lead people in encountering the truth of the gospel. We are not a church that has everything together in our staff or in our production. We seek to lead where we rely on Christ for His strength where we are weak. As we are a church plant, the duties of the Worship Pastor likely will account for approximately 20 hours per week. We are looking to craft the position around the right candidate which would include utilizing your strengths in leading the church. Some possible areas of need are discipleship, production, creative media, administrative, or youth ministry. Tell us what your passions are and see if we are a fit for your calling.
This is a full-time, exempt staff position for a church in Marshalltown, IA. You report directly to the Lead Pastor.
Key Objectives:
- Lead our Worship Teams, including musicians, vocalist & production volunteers, with excellence.
- Lead worship, preferably as a strong vocalist and instrumentalist, alongside other Worship Leaders.
- Recruit and develop volunteers in their gifting to lead our church in worship.
- Help the Teaching Team to enhance the message for the service, including songs, videos, and experiences to engage our church body.
- Engage and lead a volunteer team of musicians and vocalists in the above goals with excellence.
Position Requirements:
- A calling to pastoral ministry, and an agreement with the Values and Beliefs of mosaic church.
- Meets the qualifications of a pastor/elder as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1
- A desire to lead as a part of a collaborative staff team.
- Musical proficiency, including the ability to lead vocally from at least one instrument and the ability to lead other musicians.
- Production proficiency preferred, including the ability to learn/implement new audio/lighting/video technology, the ability to understand current technology to patch or fix issues as they arise, and the ability to coordinate with appropriate production vendors as needed.
- Self-motivated leader, with the ability to be organized & responsible, as well as a love for planning ahead (which is expected).
- Ability to create and communicate a schedule for rehearsals and services.
- Ability to recruit and lead teams of volunteers, as well as identify and develop other leaders in the church.
- Passion to understand, embrace, & engage the current culture.
- Confident and engaging stage presence and communication skills.
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Create an engaging environment for all services/gatherings
- Lead and oversee bands and vocalists – Recruiting, Scheduling, Rehearsing, Chord Charts, Song Selection, etc.
- Assist with service programming & creative planning – Series Planning, Service Moments, Creative Elements, etc.
- Manage all equipment and resources required for these areas
- Recruit and Train additional worship leaders, musicians and production leaders that can assist & lead individual areas of ministry
- Oversee Website & Social Media management - Subsplash App, Website & social media (Facebook & Instagram)
- Help create creative content for digital engagement ministry – Video Recording/Editing, Social Media Engagement, etc.
