Mountaintop Church is a non-denominational, contemporary church in Birmingham, AL. From its founding in 1992, Mountaintop's mission has been unchanging. Our heart is to be a place where all people hear the truth that God is FOR them as they experience that we are FOR them. So that together we can be a force FOR BIRMINGHAM.

SUMMARY OF ROLE

The Groups Outreach Pastor will be pivotal in leading outreach initiatives and empowering people to influence their circles by living out their faith as authentic followers of Jesus in their daily lives.

LEAD The Groups Outreach Pastor should be a fully devoted follower of Jesus whose character reflects the fruit of the Spirit. Their life should be defined by Mountaintop's Marks of a Follower of Jesus. As a result, they will be a dynamic leader who can guide the vision and direction of the church's discipleship outreach ministries.

CREATE This role will actively collaborate in creating new initiatives to equip people to follow Jesus in their everyday lives, including programming, retreats, curricula, and strategies that have yet to be imagined or developed.

MOBILIZE Everyone on our staff plays a role in equipping and mobilizing people to live out their faith. This position will be vital in identifying and developing leaders and mobilizing them to learn to develop and equip other leaders in the ways of Jesus.

STRATEGY

• Work with the Adult Ministries Pastor to refine the Discipleship Pathway to help individuals grow in their faith. This includes developing a curriculum that is structured to be easily reproducible, allowing leaders to implement it effectively within their Groups. The pathway will include foundational teachings, spiritual practices, and community involvement to nurture holistic spiritual growth.
• Partner with Adult Ministries Pastor to strategize the best ways to empower and equip people to serve their local neighborhoods and workplaces to reach their neighbors and co-workers with the Gospel's good news.
• The Groups/Outreach Pastor will serve on the Directional Team which provides insight and direction for ministry operations of the church.

LEADERSHIP AND OVERSIGHT

• Launch and oversee outreach groups, including Alpha and City Groups.
• Provide leadership and direction for reaching men in our city and church and helping them learn to follow Jesus in their everyday lives at home and at work. Includes overseeing Men’s small groups.
• Mountaintop currently has two annual church Serve the City days. This role will provide leadership and oversight to these events.
• During 2023, Mountaintop launched a community business leadership breakfast. This position will over see the execution of these events.

TEACHING AND PREACHING

• Preach, teach, and lead in multiple environments, from discipleship courses to leadership training to the occasional Sunday morning worship experience.

BUDGET MANAGEMENT

• Oversee and manage the outreach budget.
