Title: Student Pastor
Reports to: Lead Pastor
Objective:
Northside Christian Church is seeking a dedicated and passionate Student Pastor to lead and grow our student ministry. Here at Northside we believe that families are at their best when church and home come together to develop fully devoted followers of JEsus. Therefore this role is ideal for someone who loves working with young people, has a heart for ministry, and desires to partner with parents in their students discipleship. The Student Pastor will be responsible for leading Student Ministry small groups, overseeing volunteers, planning and executing ministry events and camps, and occasionally teaching in the Adult Service.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Student Ministry Leadership:

- Pastor and lead a community of students (6th-12th grades) to grow into fully devoted followers of Jesus.
- Lead and facilitate small group sessions for students on Wednesday nights.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for student discipleship and spiritual growth.
- Provide pathways for students to make a difference at Northside, not just some day, but today.
- Provide pastoral care and counseling to students as needed.
- Help educate and equip parents/caregivers to be the discipleship-makers of their household.
- Volunteer Oversight:
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers involved in the student ministry.
- Ensure volunteers are equipped and supported in their roles.
- Foster a positive and collaborative environment among volunteers.
- Event Planning and Execution:
- Create community outreach projects for our students to engage with both our local community and global partnerships.
- Plan, organize, and oversee student ministry events and activities, including retreats, mission trips, and camps.
- Coordinate logistics, transportation, and accommodations for events.
- Ensure events are aligned with Northside’s Discipleship Pathway.
- Teaching and Preaching:
- Prepare and deliver engaging and relevant messages to students that will foster discipleship and discussion in small groups.
- Teach in the adult congregation several times a year, as requested by the Lead Pastor.
- Collaborate with the church’s leadership team to integrate the student ministry with the broader church community including serving opportunities with adults.
- Administrative Duties:
- Manage the student ministry budget and resources.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and participation.
- Communicate effectively with parents, keeping them informed about discipleship resources, upcoming events and their children’s involvement.
Qualifications:
- A strong and vibrant personal faith in Jesus Christ.
- Relationally oriented with a heart focused toward student discipleship.
- Bachelor's degree in Theology, Ministry, Education, or a related field (or pending graduation).
- Previous experience working in youth ministry or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
- Ability to teach God's Word and relate it to both students and adults.
- A heart for serving and mentoring young people.
Working Conditions:
- 40 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate evening and weekend events.
- Active participation in church services and events is expected.
- Collaboration with other church staff and ministry leaders.
