Position Description/Overview: 

The Pastor of Congregational Care & Counseling will provide vision and direction over the care and counseling ministries and initiatives of The Chapel.  As a key member of the pastoral team this position will primarily help lead and develop care teams to support The Chapel in it’s mission to move people one step closer to God and each other through Christ.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide pastoral oversight to The Chapel’s care and counseling ministries and initiatives
  • Lead, develop, and encourage care teams to care for and disciple others in the church.
  • Participate on the pastoral care team and provide pastoral care and counseling to the congregation.
  • Participate in Weekend Worship Services as needed (Welcome/Announcements/Prayer/Communion).
  • Perform pastoral duties such as funerals, weddings, baptisms, child dedications, visitations, etc. as needed.
  • Prepare and teach weekend worship service messages, as needed.
  • Lead classes and opportunities for spiritual formation, as needed.
  • Contribute monthly elder report to update church leadership on new developments and prayer requests.
  • Other duties as assigned or as needed in support of the Chapel’s Mission, Vision, Values.

Qualifications/Expectation:

  • Formal Bible training required.
  • Master’s degree in Biblical Counseling preferred.
