The Church

The Point Church has partnered with the Aaron Hur Group in the search for their new Senior Pastor. The Point Church has a rich history and traces back to August 1963 when it was established as The Point Chapel, with a mission to serve the community of Innerarity Island. Over the course of 60 years, the church underwent a series of name changes, evolving from Innerarity Point Baptist Church to its current identity, The Point Church.

Further expansion took place in January 2023 with the start-up of the Jackson Campus from the foundation of West Pensacola Baptist Church. This multi-site initiative seeks to honor the existing community's heritage and focuses on reaching the Jackson community for Christ. The Point is excited to move into this next season of growth for the Jackson campus and can’t wait to see all God has in store for our church. Since the inception of each campus, The Point Church has experienced significant growth and remains dedicated to broadening the influence of the Gospel.

The Point continues to dream with much excitement about the opportunities to further expand the Kingdom of God in their community and around the world. Community

Pensacola extends along the western coast of Florida and the eastern coast of Alabama, the church is situated in the Perdido Key community which boasts a unique position as an ideal place for island living. This part of Pensacola is nestled on a slim stretch of land at the far western tip of Florida, The Perdido Key area is a barrier island framed by picturesque white-sand dunes and breathtaking views of the serene Gulf waters to the south. To the north, it is surrounded by lush wetlands, estuaries, and a variety of wildlife. This location effortlessly combines natural splendor, coastal lifestyle, and southern hospitality.

Pensacola is known as "The Cradle of Naval Aviation," as it was home to the first Naval Air Station established by the U.S. Navy in 1914 and is the home to many of our military families. A fun fact is the National Museum of Naval Aviation, located on Naval Air Station Pensacola, is the world’s largest Naval Aviation museum and one of the most-visited museums in the state of Florida with more than 150 beautifully restored aircraft as well as historical displays and a giant screen theater.

The city hosts a variety of yearly festivals, events, historical tours, and notable landmarks. Two such events are the Pensacola Seafood Festival and The Pensacola Crawfish Festival, both located in the historic Downtown area, featuring live music performances for almost three decades.

Additionally, Veterans Memorial Park in Pensacola houses the Vietnam Veterans of Northwest Florida's "Wall South," a scaled-down version of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C.

The Pensacola area is a great place to live and raise a family and offers something for every resident. The Point Church loves being a part of this wonderful community and is committed to reaching the community and its surrounding areas with the love of Christ.
