Overview
The Student Minister is responsible for leading and overseeing the Middle School and High School ministries at GracePoint Church. This role includes developing and implementing programs that nurture spiritual growth, engage families, and align with the church’s mission and the GracePoint Family Ministry Model.
General Responsibilities
- Attend and actively engage in weekly staff meetings, retreats, and church-wide initiatives
- Adhere to standard processes outlined in the staff handbook
- Commit to annual professional development and ministry goals
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Vision:
- Develop and cast a vision for Middle School and High School ministries that aligns with the church’s mission and the GracePoint Family Ministry Model
- Recruit, train, and equip a team of volunteers to effectively minister to students and their families
Program Development:
- Design and oversee age-appropriate weekly programming for Sunday and midweek activities
- Plan and execute special events, such as campus outreach, camps, and mission trips
- Ensure that all programming integrates faith into everyday family life and supports parents as primary disciplers of their student
Family Engagement:
- Partner with parents by providing resources, training, and support to help them lead their students spiritually
- Organize workshops and seminars focused on parenting and family discipleship (in collaboration with Family Ministry team)
- Maintain regular communication with parents through newsletters, social media, and the church website
Administrative Duties:
- Develop and manage the Student Ministry budget
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, volunteer participation, and program outcomes
- Ensure all activities comply with the church’s child safety policies and procedures
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Family Ministry Director and other ministry leaders to create a cohesive family ministry strategy
- Participate in regular staff meetings and contribute to church-wide initiatives and events
Organizational Relationship
The Student Minister reports directly to the Family Ministry Director.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for Student ministry
- Affirm all the essential doctrines outlined on GracePoint’s Statement of Faith
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Ministry, Education, Child Development) preferred.
- Experience (at least 2 years) in leading Student ministry programs and managing volunteers
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Proficiency in using technology and social media for ministry purposes
Role Scope / Compensation
This is a full-time role that consists of 40 weekly hours and offers 10 days of paid time off annually. It includes monthly retirement contributions to a 403(b) account, group plan insurance through Guidestone, medical healthcare through Christian Healthcare Ministries, and childcare through Bright Beginnings preschool. A weekly work schedule will be coordinated with the Family Ministry Director.
Base Salary is contingent on ministry experience, training, and education.
