Role Description
We are looking for a full-time Youth Pastor to lead the student ministry (6th-12th grade) at CrossPoint. The Youth Pastor will work with youth and their families to lead them in a growing relationship with Jesus.

CrossPoint has an in-person weekly average of 420 people with another 160 unique households weekly joining us online. We are a growing church that is passionate about being gospel-centered and mission-focused for Jesus Christ. We are affiliated with Converge (converge.org). Our student ministry averages over 60 students weekly on Wednesday nights and 30 on Sunday mornings. The student ministry volunteer team has over 20 leaders.

Hutchinson is a beautiful town of 14,500 built on the Crow River and two lakes. The town is large enough to meet your shopping needs and located 50 minutes west of the Twin Cities and 50 minutes south of St. Cloud, providing convenient access to the restaurants, shopping, and opportunities found in larger cities. The town boasts extensive outdoor recreation with an outdoor waterpark, the 63-mile Luce Line bike path running along the river through the town, over 40 parks, a golf course, and many lakes within a 20-minute drive. Hutchinson is a great community to raise a family with great schools and plenty of activity opportunities for kids.
Qualities, Skills, and Requirements
- A growing personal relationship with Christ with demonstrated godly character and regular rhythms of spiritual formation. Respected by those around them.
- A passion to reach students with the gospel and see them discipled towards maturity in Christ.
- A strong sense of God’s calling to student ministry and enjoys being around students.
- Self-motivated, independent worker who can see a project through to completion.
- Demonstrated aptitude for planning, mobilizing, administrating, and leading a ministry.
- Strong interpersonal skills and EQ. Consistently friendly and warm toward others.
- Skilled at coaching others to do ministry effectively using their spiritual gifts and talents. Collaborative in providing leadership for the student ministry.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and adept at conflict resolution.
- Familiar with and/or comfortable learning various computer software programs like Microsoft Professional Suite, Google Suite, ProPresenter, FellowshipOne (database), Canva, and Adobe.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide vision, leadership, and volunteer development for the youth ministry that aligns with the overall vision and mission of the church.
- Conduct the weekly youth ministry programs on Wednesdays and Sundays. Plan and lead retreats, events, and mission trips to strategically fulfill the vision and mission of the youth ministry.
- Create gospel-centered, fun, and safe environments for the youth ministry.
- Recruit, train, equip, and coach adult volunteers so that they are using their gifts and talents to effectively disciple youth, and develop student leaders. Equip students to be on mission for Christ in their spheres of influence.
- Manage financials for the youth ministry which includes an annual budget, cash received, and expenditures reporting.
- Maintain and report accurate data for all student ministry-related information.
- Ensure that all youth leaders and volunteers understand and comply with CrossPoint’s child protection policy, complete Ministry Safe sexual abuse training, and have a background check.
- Maintain positive relationships and address conflicts biblically and appropriately.
- Participate in the weekly staff meetings. Build a collaborative relationship with CrossPoint Staff to achieve the vision of the church. This involves cross-serving in other ministries at times.
- Participate in the HAY (Hutchinson Area Youth) to work collaboratively with other youth ministries and in Converge North Central’s youth ministry network.
- Build relationships with unchurched students in Hutchinson and area communities through school and student activities.
- Attend weekly worship services, participate in a growth group, and be involved in church activities.
- Evaluate and review the youth ministry annually with the Senior Pastor.
- Oversee the building and grounds for the church. This involves coordinating maintenance projects, leading improvement projects, and ensuring we have maintenance timelines.
- Duties may be modified based on the gifting and the leadership needs within the church as directed by the Senior Pastor.
- This position is under the direct supervision of the Senior Pastor.
Education and Experience
Must have at least one of the following: (1) a Bible or ministry-related bachelor’s degree, (2) experience leading a youth ministry, or (3) a 6+ month internship in a successful youth ministry.
Compensation
Salary will be competitive and based on education and experience.
