Purpose: Through effective relationships, discipleship, evangelism, team building and administration, the Associate Pastor of Youth will provide spiritual leadership for youth in grades 6-12, their parents, teachers and ministry volunteers.
Qualifications:
- Ability to clearly articulate personal Christian testimony including salvation, baptism and call to ministry.
- Ability to clearly communicate the gospel with others.
- Displays spiritual maturity and submission to the authority of the Bible and the Holy Spirit.
- Agreement with Statement of Faith and Fellowship Covenant of LFCC
- Knowledge and understanding of scripture.
- Ability to easily relate to youth and effectively communicate biblical truth.
- Ability to effectively communicate with parents.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to recruit, coordinate, and work with volunteers.
- Self-motivated, visionary and goal oriented.
- Willingness to work cooperatively with and receive direction from the senior pastor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a consistently faithful walk with Jesus.
- Work in cooperation with church elders and staff to support the overall mission and vision of the church.
- Faithfully attend church services and functions.
- Attend staff meetings and other meetings as assigned.
- Develop, organize, promote and coordinate all ministry to youth in grades 6-12.
- Evaluate needs of youth in our church and community and create a comprehensive ministry plan that addresses those needs.
- Provide a youth ministry that incorporates Bible teaching, outreach training and opportunities, service opportunities, short term missions, small and large group activities, music, fellowship and fun.
- Develop cooperative relationships with school, city, and local church leaders.
- Participation in Vacation Bible School.
- Weekly meetings with middle school youth group and high school youth group.
- Occasional preaching, teaching, counseling and other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
