To provide technical expertise, leadership, guidance, and ultimate ownership for all audio amplification, recording and archiving, stage support, technical audio planning, and design, related to ministries of CBC. Includes development and supervision of audio volunteers, audio capital and expense budget responsibility, and project planning and coordination related to audio. The Audio Director’s primary goal is to ensure that ministries and events across all facilities and off-site events can utilize audio technology efficiently and effectively for seamless ministry.
PRIMARY LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
- Financial budget and expense control of Audio function
- Audio system management and design
- Recruitment, leadership, training, and scheduling of audio volunteers
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administrative documentation including policies, processes, and procedures
- Manage projects and collaborate with projects that involve the audio discipline
- As directed by the Director of Administration
STAFF RELATIONSHIPS
This role has a significant overlap of relationships that require functional direction from multiple ministry leaders
- The direct supervisor is the Director of Administration
- Direction and input from the Music Director for main worship services and events
- Collaboration with Video Producer for technical and media production
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFinance
- Facilitate and oversee operational and project budget adherence
- Thorough estimation, tracking, and accountability of audio-approved projects
- Ensure invoices and reimbursements in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure the annual and project budget and scope process includes the Music Director and other stakeholders' needs
- Maintain capital replacement list for accurate forecasting of Audio Capital fund
Audio Technology
- Oversee and keep current technology and capital inventory
- Develop overall audio system architecture for optimal operation and ministry impact with the limited resources provided
- Management of the Dante system stack
- Ensure all audio equipment and related infrastructure are maintained
- Maintain backup and/or alternative options for critical systems in the Worship Center
- Troubleshoot system issues to identify options that are cost-effective and when needed, provide ministry leaders with quantifiable options for decision making
Key Relationship Management
- Take direction and input from the Music Director regarding audio-related support in the Worship Center and related activities and events
- Proactively develop and maintain action and remediation efforts from weekly reviews and future events
- Assess, cultivate, and anticipate audio needs with ministry stakeholders in every venue
Operational Management
- Ensure that all services and events on campus have adequate technical and personnel support
- Oversee the training and development of audio volunteers
- Maintain an intimate knowledge of audio systems and constantly work to improve the working of audio systems
- Oversee the setup and preparation for all services and events on campus
- Troubleshoot and coordinate with specialty audio vendors to solve issues
Personal & Team Development and Support
- Maintain a testimony that demonstrates biblical Christianity
- Ensured schedules are timely, appropriate, and communicated for audio volunteers for all ministries in support of CBC functions
- Develop and maintain long and short-term planning with measurable goals for audio function
QUALIFICATIONS
- Committed disciple of Jesus Christ personally and corporately
- Member in good standing of Countryside Bible Church
- College degree in media related field, or appropriate equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of, and preferred experience with, the Dante Stack and suite of related tools
- Highly proficient in live audio production
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly
