The Church of New Beginnings is prayerfully seeking a full-time pastor to lead our congregation. We are a faithful non-denominational congregation located in North East (NE) Washington DC, with an approximate membership of about ninety congregants.
Our church’s purpose is to glorify God by leading people to Jesus Christ, developing one another to Christ-like maturity, and equipping one another for life-long service to God. The pastor will be responsible to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and provide
Christian Leadership to all areas of the church. The pastor will also provide pastoral care to the congregation. Please see below for requirements:
Requirements
- The pastor shall provide for the spiritual well-being, growth, and leadership of ‘The Church of New Beginnings’, and all the services of this congregation, by adhering to the following:
- Preach and teach the word of God, by delivering Spirit-Filled sermons.
- Lead and teach Bible Study to the fellowship.
- Must believe in God, the salvation of his son, Jesus Christ, and be guided by his Holy Spirit.
- Shall be a baptized believer who is firmly committed to the purpose of, and dedicated to teaching the whole counsel of God, from Genesis to Revelation.
- Provide pastoral counseling to members of the congregation.
- Perform duties as ordained by the By-Laws.
- 5+ years of pastoral ministry experience.
- Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors
- Demonstrate good leadership through transparency and accountability.
- Officiate at weddings and funerals, and provide for the care, counseling, and visitation of the members of the Church.
- Provide vision, oversight, direction, and leadership for the congregation, and all ministries and affairs.
- Define and communicate the Church’s purpose and mission.
- The pastor shall be a licensed and ordained minister of the Gospel, and provide documenting credentials with an official seal.
- Provide three letters of recommendation (two letters from clergy, and one letter from a personal acquaintance)
- Candidates will be required to deliver one live sermon and one Bible Study session to the congregation at a specified time.
Education
- Minimum requirement- Bachelor’s degree of Divinity from an accredited college/university or a degree from a theological seminary.
