Job Description:

We are a small church (averaging 210 between two Sunday worship services) on a big mission: to make disciples for Jesus Christ of all people, and grow disciples who joyfully obey all of His commands to love God and love people. In our north-central Kansas family-friendly farming community, we are focused on fulfilling the Great Commission by living out the Great Commandment.

Despite our rural setting, we are experiencing God’s favor in reaching increasing numbers of children and young families. To keep in step with the Holy Spirit, we are seeking to hire additional staff who can help equip God’s people for works of service, that the body of Christ may be built up.

The Director of Children’s Discipleship is a full-time, salaried position. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who feels called by the Lord, but lacks ministry experience. You can gain that with us if you are a Biblically passionate, well-organized person who is able to communicate the Gospel and equip volunteers to serve effectively. We are seeking a loving disciple of Jesus Christ who has a heart to make and grow disciples of children (infants through Grade 6) through leadership of volunteers and direct involvement in BFCC’s Children’s Ministries.

Responsibilities:

  1. Recruit, train, and equip adult leaders and helpers to do the work of ministry for: Childcare Nursery (infants – age 4), Kid’s Church (kindergarten – grade 4), CLASH (grades 1 – 6), Vacation Bible School (grades 1 – 6), and Sunday Morning Life Groups (pre-K – grade 6). This may also include personally leading and teaching these groups when volunteer leaders are still being developed.
  2. Perform regular outreach to make and grow disciples of parents and guardians of students (infants – Grade 6), including follow-up on worship visitors, seeking to help them make next step connections in becoming and growing as a disciple of Jesus.
  3. Oversee and manage the Children’s Ministry Budget by approving and making needed purchases of curriculum and supplies for ministry.
  4. Communicate Children’s Ministry programs, activities, and opportunities to parents and the community through a variety of social and print media.
  5. Attend weekly staff meetings, write a monthly board report and annual report, and attend Elder board meetings.
